Headed into Breakaway for Restaurant Week. This was my first time and the food was delicious!!!We did have the Restaurant Week menu which was chips, a smash burger, and a cherry bread pudding. All were super yummy! The chips had a kick to them. And the burger came with a potato salad that was so fresh. We also ordered the Breakaway Breakfast Sandwich!! Wow!! The Biscuit! The thick cut bacon! The egg was cooked perfectly! And the hot honey...chef's kiss. The beers were also good and we were able to talk to the brewer and he gave a lot of background on the beers. I loved that you could tell all the food was made from scratch. I will definitely be back!

I recently discovered Breakaway Brewing a couple months ago and since then have tried almost everything on the menu. Their food is made fresh, my two favorites are the Strawberry Spring Salad with Grilled Chicken and their Smash Burger. Service is friendly and personal. The setting is casual and comfortable. Lots of various artwork and pictures on the walls, games for the kiddos to play and an impressive brewery which can be seen near the front. There is seating inside or under a covered patio as well. If you're looking for something a bit different where the menu is creative and the food delicious - give Breakaway Brewing a try. They're located near Fort Sam Houston on Greyson just west of New Braunfels. As always - Eat In Good Health.

Recommend: Yes! I'd been craving a beer for a few weeks and was looking for a place that had outside seating where I could read a book. I know what you're thinking..."who goes to a bar to get beer??" . This place was just what I was looking for to satisfy my craving.Service: The service was great and fast! I had questions about some of the beer and the bartender was great and patient at answering them. They also offered small tastes of the beer I was interested in to help me make my choice. Ambiance: I really enjoyed the ambiance. They had good music on that ranged from several genres and wasn't too loud. This allowed conversations to occur without having to yell. There were plenty of seating areas to choose from. Some seating was a little more private or others closer to the bar area. There was a whole wall of windows that allowed you to look outside, see the street and Fort Sam Houston. It was nice to see something outside vs a wall. There were TV's and bikes hung on the walls adding to the vibe (take a moment to read about the owners). There are several board games available if you come with a group of friends. They also hold games nights! Food: The beer def hit the spot. I ordered the "Forget me not" which had blueberry. It was enjoyable and part of the proceeds went to an Alzheimer's charity. I also had "The Texan." They offer various sizes to choose from and have tasting flights. The prices are reasonable. I only had the polenta fries, they were fresh and found them to be very crispy (yum!), the Gorgonzola dipping sauce complimented them very well. It was light, fresh, and just the right amount of tangy for the polenta fries. If you are looking for a spot to grab a beer on your own, hang out and to catch up with friends, play board games or simply relax, I highly recommend Breakaway Brewing.

Ambiance: Cycling themed brewery off Grayson Street with multiple seating areas and a kitchen. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and drinking one of their IPAs. Decent pricing, fast/friendly service, and pretty good beer! Cute theme, great for any cyclists or sports enthusiasts. Chill spot perfect for hanging out on the weekend or post-work day. Definitely got busier late afternoon/early evening. Parking onsite in a connecting lot. They take Apple Pay!

The beer at Breakaway is outstanding!! The cream ale is amazing for warm days and goes down easy. I also had the Christmas Kölsch and it, too, was phenomenal! If you have time to spare anywhere in San Antonio, make the trip to Breakaway Brewing!

Another great brewery in San Antonio. Each one has its own unique subculture and Breakaway goes all out with theirs. This is a biker bar. Or should it be called a cyclist bar? Yeah - that's more like it. Cycling on the TV's, bike stuff everywhere and even themed beers. The staff here is lovely. Personable and attentive. You have to try the baked pepperonis! Delightful. The pretzel and salad was delicious as well. The only minor set back for me is that I didn't enjoy the selection of beers as much to give it 5 stars. Another visit with a different selection could change that. I do appreciate that they brew their own so I'm sure it will rotate to options I would be more for. Either way - I'll be back for sure.

Breakaway is a cozy little brewery just down the street from my office, which makes for a great happy hour! I typically am totting around with a vegetarian and this time two of us ordered the veggie burger on one merit: the patty is house made! Hard to come by, the burger was absolutely delicious! Would definitely order it again. The beer selection is always just right, not too many to overwhelm, but enough to give you some choices. In addition, the staff are laid back and ready to serve you when needed without being overbearing. Great little place to hang around!

Nice casual brew pub. Super handy to Fort Sam. Burgers and gorgonzola chicken sandwich are both great. Tortilla chips have a hint of black ppepper that is fantastic! Their brews are delightful. Swing by for lunch or after work. Great service to help you relax.

Rarely do they make a beer that I do not like and the rotation gets changed up frequently.
