Brand New Hidden Gem in the Stone Oak area full of upscale Whiskey & Cigars. I'm not a Cigar smoker but a few friends are. I do appreciate that there was no smoking inside. Service was fast with a smile. The Ambience reminded me of a sexy man cave. Dark, cozy and the vibe was super chill. Limited seating so be prepared for the possibility of standing a bit. The Food we ordered was some small bites (chicken tenders & fries). Portion size was perfect for my friend & I to share. The fries were hot, crispy & fresh. The tenders however were a bit bland. 4 sauce options came with it, I let the waiter select & they were all tasty. I got to try a few new Whiskey options; again I allowed the bartender to recommend. He did a great job & Ill def back to try more.

I decided to check out a new spot in the Stoneoak area; a rare venture for me since I usually stick to downtown haunts. Books is still growing on me; I love the vibe inside the bar, and the service is excellent. My bartender, Joshua, was incredibly accommodating even apologetic when they couldn't craft my drink.I ordered a Black Manhattan, a cocktail that may not be a popular choice among many San Antonians but makes a compelling case for adding Averna liqueur to any bar's inventory. I like to splurge on weekends, and this shortfall might keep me from coming back. In my view, an exclusive bar like Books should be able to accommodate a vintage cocktail like the Black Manhattan. My cocktail of choice for the night was a Boulevardier and this should tell you what my palate desires. Overall, I appreciated Joshua's willingness to bring this to management's attention, hoping it sparks an expansion of their inventory. The appetizers were fantastic; we enjoyed onion rings, fish, and chicken bites, all served hot and delicious. Lastly, our party had the opportunity to enjoy some cigars in the outdoor lounge area. While it was a nice touch, I felt the space could be cozier and better aligned with the unique Books vibe.As with any business, there's always room for improvement. These are just my personal impressions, and I look forward to returning soon in hopes that Books continues to grow on me.

This is a new bar, so it was really crowded--which is great! If you do not crowds, I would suggest wait a month or two to go. The bartenders were impressive! It was awesome to see them in action. The hubs got an espresso and a cigar and I got the "Earl in the Garden" cocktail. We both enjoyed it immensely. We will come back to enjoy the appetizers and food choices they have to offer. Overall clean cool place. Absolutely love the book theme.

I can't comment on much as I never made it inside. Showed up with a group of 5 and was told there was an hour wait, so we waited. At an hour went up and asked if we were close to getting in, they said their "systems" were down and to just wait a little longer. Waited another 30 minutes or more walked back up to ask if we could sit and get a drink and the person up front said we're closed. WTF!! We waited almost 2 hours outside with poor communication from staff. Not worth it.

Drinks, service, environment and vibe top notch! Love this place! My new favorite local cocktail spot!

We really enjoyed this place! Great ambiance and great cocktails. Our server was Winchester, and he was super friendly, personable and helpful! We loved the espresso drinks at the end (those were our favorite). The food was decent enough for bar food snacks. Will definitely come back!

Very cool vibe. Decided to come here on a cold Wednesday and had a delicious Tropical Epiphany. Husband had the London Velvet which was soooo delicious that I had to order myself one too. It's so smooth that "just one drink" quickly turned into a few. Definitely check it out.

Fantastic. Bartenders are on their game, they definitely whip up so great cocktails. Ambiance is what Stoneoak was missing, something upscale and ready for date night. I'll be back, over and over and over again. Cheers.

I went in last weekend and had the greatest time. The ambiance was amazing and Josh was spectacular. 100 percent will go again

El Dueño fue muy anti Profesional, fuimos un grupo de 15 personas y nos trataron malisimo...no les recomiendo Books and whiskey society para nada.Para un trago había q esperar 30 minutos .
