Bohanan's Prime Steak and Seafood

I had never visited Bohanon's before but their reviews and Yelp photos stood out to me when selecting the restaurant for the 65th wedding anniversary of my grandparents. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. They asked my wife, sister, and I questions about our grandparents and thanked us for selecting their restaurant. The bar area was beautiful and the seats were comfy. We had a cocktail hour before going upstairs to dinner and each drink was wonderful. Once we went upstairs, they sat us at the best table in the house overlooking the courtyard lit up with string lights. The waitstaff took amazing care of us and paid special attention to my grandparents. My grandpa doesn't even like champagne but he enjoyed the complimentary glass and kind words. As expected, every appetizer, entree, and side was on point. The team really made it so special for us and we couldn't have been happier. My grandmother insisted that my grandpa take her back for a date there. They called me the next night to tell me how much they loved it and how they're going back soon. Thank you!

Being from Houston, Texas I'm pretty particular about my state, but let me tell you what Bohanans in San Antonio was simply top-notch. What a great experience from top to bottom.First off the decor simply amazing. I love the decor here. I took one of my favorite shots with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. The customer service is top-notch. We had several waiters checking on us throughout the entire night. We never had to wait for anything because they were on point. The drinks were full and we had everything we needed at all times. Food: everything is simply amazing here. We started off with some appetizers. The grilled oysters were made to perfection. Also, the thick cut pieces of bacon are to die for. Wow that bacon is full of flavor and simply amazing. You can call it candied bacon if you will or like beef jerky or something amazing. The chicken tortilla soup is probably the best I've ever had. I could come here and eat that for lunch and be completely satisfied, but I don't think they only open for dinner but that chicken tortilla soup is such a great dish. Blown away by it I went with a fillet and it was grilled to perfect perfection. What a great cut of meat. Every single bite was flavorful. We tried each other Steaks to make sure we got to try all the different cuts. My fillet was great, but I have to admit, the New York strip was the best cut of meat. I tried. Wow talk about a perfect steak. Oh my God I would totally come back and get a New York strip every single time the ribeye was just as good. Full of flavor and grilled to perfection. The sides were amazing. The cream corn was top notch. The au gratin potatoes were simply amazing. The desserts were to die for. As you can see, we went with bread, pudding, and crème brûlée and they were just top-notch. Everything was great here. There was nothing that I would change. They knocked it out the park.If you want great service, great food, with a beautifully decorated restaurant. This is the place to come to. This will be my go to for nice steaks when I come to San Antonio . Easiest five star review. Staff did a phenomenal job tonight. Shout out to the cooks as well.

Bohanan's is a fancy steakhouse on Houston street in downtown San Antonio. Although I've been to Bohanan's plenty of times and the food is always impeccable, this time I went because one of my favorite jazz bands were playing there. I went with a friend to catch the Christmas vibes of Johnny P and the Wiseguys along with Bohanan's always fantastic cocktails. The live music really elevates the vibe in this place and creates a really humbling experience. The bartenders were ever-present, professional and attentive as always and I had a great time! If you're in the downtown area do yourself a favor and go to Bohanan's and indulge in their five-star steaks and delicious crafty cocktails.

What a lovely dinner! We were able to get in last minute for a business dinner after a glowing recommendation from the bartender at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. The food was of course phenomenal, but the service is where this place really shines. Our server was incredible--knowledgeable, timely, and professional (but with a personality). Without a doubt, I'd recommend for a business dinner or a fancy date night. FYI - The crab cake was the table's favorite item!

What's very hard to do is keep on top, the best of the best, year after year. We first visited Bohanans about 12 years ago. They continue to be one if not the finest eating/drinking experiences in SATX. I don't mind paying "upwards" when the food, drinks and experience is amazing. If it's not your thing weekly - don't pass this experience up for a special occasion visit to Bohanans! Visitors, conferences, conventions, business in San Antonio. Check this location off.

This was the second time coming to Bohanan's.  This time was for my company's Holiday dinner and again I was impressed by the service and food.  My drink for the night was their Margarita, which was good.   I started out dinner with the Texas Heirloom Salad (apologizes for having no picture of this wonderful salad).  For my main dish, I ordered the Salmon with a side of Potatoes Au Gratin.  Everything was very delicious.  The Salmon melted in my mouth and the Potatoes complimented it very well.  For dessert, my wife and I shared their Creme Brulee, nice and light but very delicious.  Our server was outstanding as there were 10 of us in our group and she made sure we were taken care.  Yes, it is expensive, but if you want to go out on a special date (e.g. Anniversary) or your company is willing to pay for a dinner and doesn't care about the cost, then this is a great place.

We had a great experience at Bohanan's. We made a reservation and we were seated very quickly. Customer service is excellent- and the food is exceptional! Needless the say with great experience we definitely got what we paid for, and I highly recommend Bohanan's to everyone I speak to. The drinks were very good, and the view from the 2nd floor window was beautiful.

We had dinner here for the 1st time on Valentine's Day, and it exceeded our expectations. More than anything, the service and staff was exceptional! Every staff member I walked by said hello and backed up to allow room for me to pass by. They were so respectful and kind. I especially have to give a shout out to our waiter, Ofilio. He was very attentive, welcoming, kind and well versed with the menu options. We accepted his suggestion on what dessert to get and the bread pudding did not disappoint. The food was delicious! We had lobster, steak, mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The bread was good too. We had a couple adult beverages that were tasty also. The ambiance was romantic and quiet. Truly a great evening! Thank you!

My Girlfriend and I were spending our anniversary together after seeing the Selena Vive concert across the street at the Majestic Theater. We had no idea where to go for dinner but I did want to take her somewhere nice. To my luck there was an incredible steakhouse right before my very eyes! We went inside and were greeted at what I assumed to be the bar floor. We were then taken to the second floor which is where everyone seemed to be dining in at. The ambiance was very old school, classy, something out of a stylistic era movie. There were 3 people taking care of us. They all did a great job and gave excellent service. The main server seemed to have trained the majority of the restaurant which is what I was told which made me get excited. When he came over, I immediately knew why. I'm terrible with names but The flambé he made at the end made my girlfriend's night for sure. Charlie, who I'm assuming was the back wait was definitely the star of the show. He talked to us and was incredibly personable and genuine, which is what I love in any service worker. He stayed through most of our service and was a wonderful person to talk to the whole night. With this in mind the food was incredible. The bread was brought out fresh from the oven. The candied Jalapeño cream cheese dip with crostinis were so addicting. My girlfriend's fish was delectable. My steak was cooked well and was presented incredibly to the last minute detail. The truffle oil french fries were amazing. And OH MY GOODNESS THE MARGARITA!!! I'm a sucker for strong margaritas, and this one was incredible. Bohanan's Platinum Margarita is the epitome of what a margarita should be. They have their own special select barrell of tequila with grand marnier. The salt on the rim is the right touch to something so fabulous as the taste of that drink. I miss it already. The plating was spectacular. The flambé that was brought out was the greatest balance of fruitiness and sweetness in a dessert I have ever seen with an awesome presentation. All in all, this has been the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. I will gladly come back here and dine again when I come to San Antonio.
