If you're craving some seriously good Texas BBQ, Black's BBQ is the place to go. This spot has been around for ages and it shows--they've mastered the art of smoking meat. The brisket is always on point--super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The pork ribs are just as good, with that perfect, melt-off-the-bone texture. The sides are solid, too. Whether it's the creamy mac and cheese, tasty potato salad, or the tangy coleslaw, they've got the perfect balance to go with all that meaty goodness.Black's BBQ is great for families, locals, and tourists alike. It's got that laid-back vibe where you know the food is going to be great every time. If you're in the area, definitely check it out--you can't go wrong.

Gabriel Iglesias - was here eating when we came here! The food was not a good as I have seen in the reviews. I'm from Florida and I have had better bbq for sure. Was disappointed with the potato salad and side options. It's not a traditional restaurant it's more like a Togo place that also has dinning tables. I felt extremely rushed at the sides counter. No smile from server no eye contact just an "anything else.".. then the meat is already later out in big chunks in a wood slab and they cut it according to your order, so don't expect hot meat because it's just sitting there waiting for people to order. So I don't think I will ask for this place by name, next time I come to Texas. Advise: keep meat in a warmer until It's asked forThen slice it.. sides Person: can show Like they care your there and help you with a smile ..

Having been to Terry Black's several times--and at multiple locations--I wanted to try the original Black's BBQ to see how it compared. My verdict? Terry took the original and made it better. We arrived during a midday rush, that in-between time after lunch but before dinner, yet the staff kept the line moving efficiently. They were friendly, conversational, and happy to answer our questions. The cobbler was delicious, and surprisingly, the mac and cheese here was even better than at Terry Black's. But let's talk about the star of the show--the brisket. While it had a nice bark, the meat was tougher and noticeably less flavorful than what I've had at Terry Black's. On top of that, there was only a single barbecue sauce option available, unlike the trio of sauces offered at Terry Black's.The interior was spacious, clean, and decorated just as you'd expect from a family-run place that's been in business since 1932. However, I couldn't help but compare it to Terry Black's--and in fairness, their advertising invites that comparison. Unfortunately, it's just not as polished or inviting.Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't stand out either. When I travel to Texas, I'd probably skip this spot in favor of exploring other highly-rated BBQ joints.

This was our first visit, and we can't wait to return! The food was fantastic, and the service was equally impressive. The environment was really nice and the decoration was the perfect touch to enjoy a good bbq!

You definitely get the full barbecue experience when you walk in, all the meats were extremely tender. Very juicy filled with flavor. the only was that the brisket was salty. I couldn't finish it. I could've just got a bad piece though. The sides were good. Enjoyed the cream corn the most! Was excited for the peach cobbler but it lacked for me. The service was great! Very friendly employees.

Been dying to try this place and I was extremely underwhelmed. Arriving around 4 on a Friday and no cars in parking lot. Not a good first impression. First interaction at counter was good- young man serving sides. But the cashier was very unenthusiastic about being there. The brisket was dry, sausage tasted old. Beans tasted like canned beans, the potato salad had the flavor of cinnamon. The banana pudding was grainy- only decent item was the sweet tea! Definitely not for me- won't be going back.

I don't usually eat Texas barbecue but when in Texas I have to and let me tell you Black's Barbecue did not disappoint! We got the fatty beef brisket, jalapeno-cheese sausage and pork spare ribs to share. Everything was soo tender, juicy and just so good! For sides we got the potato salad, mac and cheese and cream corn. The sides went perfectly with the meat. I also love how you can grab your own onions, pickles and bread because I'm an onion girlie and need a whole lot haha. The workers were very welcoming and friendly and it's a big place with a nice and chill vibe. I know there's many barbecue places here in Texas but I think Black's Barbeque is definitely worth a try!

Terrible! I finally tried this location and I will not be returning! On the same level as Rudy's, basically expensive fast food. There was nothing special about the brisket, the sausage was overly greasy and lacked flavor, and the sides were just gross - poor quality cafeteria food. If you are a true BBQ lover, stick with the real original Black's in Lockhart or the many other famous BBQ spots around Texas that are worth the drive! Unfortunately New Braunfels is not home to any of them!

We arrived an hour before they closed. We were welcomed as we entered. The staff were very helpful. We were able to get all the different bbq meats available. We were told by going that late on a Saturday some meats would be sold out. Not for us. We enjoyed them all. The restaurant felt like we were definitely in Cowboy Country. This place is clean and very welcoming. It was great. We will definitely be back.

Food was legit good bbq! I haven't had them all but this was damn good. Along with all your meats, there's an open bar to grab sauces, onions, pickles, and sliced bread. That's the kicker... use the bread to hold all the goodness together before shoving it into your face. You can load the meat, sides, and sauce all together for the preheat bite! Very chill open seating with large tables perfect for big groups. Their desserts can also be purchased in small to large to-go containers perfect for a late night snack. We took home the peach cobbler, banana pudding, and fantastic chocolate mousse (pop it in the freezer and thank me later ).
