I go to school in the area so a couple friends and I come to this diner often for breakfast and it's just a wonderful vibe!Everyone is always so sweet and attentive and honestly every time we have gone we have gotten extremely fast service, our breaks are about 45 minutes long and we normally make it back to class before break ends!Overall we will continue to come here and we appreciate everyone that works here!

Went to this location and ordered the fish n chips. The fish was disappointing. I probably could've done better with Mrs. Gordon's. A little fishy and totally unimaginative. Tried but couldn't eat it.Mom had meat loaf but was over flavored with French onion soup mix. It's a concept restaurant but they should give more effort to the quality of the food. Will not return.

I've never heard of Black Bear Diner before, but apparently it's a chain that originated on the west coast. I loved the decor with all the bear motifs inside and outside.Food-wise, I think people enjoy the "large" portion sizes, but I personally don't think the quality is as good as actual standalone diners. (It is a chain restaurant, of course.) I got the California omelette with a side of fresh fruit. The omelette itself has avocado on top, with mushroom and cheese inside. It wasn't the best omelette I've ever tasted, but it also wasn't terrible. The fruit was surprisingly fresher than I expected, but the biscuit was quite dry and crumbly. For the overall quality of the meal, I thought it was overpriced ($13.25). The food itself is filling, but you can also tell that it's not the healthiest.Service was prompt and efficient.I probably won't return as I'm not a huge fan of diners to begin with. And this chain diner surely did not impress me by any means.

So the restaurant is very nice itself love the way it is designed and has a nice atmosphere, service was good I have no complaints there, friendly staff, my complaints come in when it comes to the drink and food, my wife ordered a mocha cold brew which sadly is hersheys syrup, a syrup you mix with milk in a coffee that's just a no go, my cold brew didn't taste any better and had a chemically taste to it doesn't seem like it's made in house, I order the build your own with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and biscuits and gravy let's get down to the nitty grittyThe eggs they were bland their was no seasoning no salt and pepper just plain scrambled eggsThe chicken sausage had decent flavor a bunch of peppers in it ehhh not my taste for a chicken sausage at least not what I'm used to The saving grace of the whole meal was the biscuits and gravy if it wasn't for that being good I probably would of walked out and went somewhere elseMy wife was happy with her chocolate pancakes her eggs were bland and she wasn't a fan of the sausage either Also not so sure how "fresh" some of this may be it took about 6-7 minutes after we ordered to come outOverall not impressed go somewhere else for good breakfast, my experience at ihop was better last week

This place is a joke. With two other options in San Antonio, avoid this location at all cost. The service is appalling. Waited several minutes with no help only to be placed on a fifteen minute wait list. I guess Kevin felt overwhelmed with the eighteen people in this restaurant. I counted since I had so much time. The young lady with glasses who apparently is the front help, decided to finally do their job and took over for Kevin in submitting a name and phone number seemed to lack the knowledge to use the software and definitely lacks the ability to listen. Had to speak so slow. It also seems ridiculous to use the software being the only one waiting to be seated. Most of the tables were done with their meals. One larger table was being served food. I've been to several Black Bears in numerous states and this was by far the worst experience I've had.

Being from Alaska, I was really looking forward to this place. I was missing the style and decor. A few of my colleagues and I ordered for lunch from their website and I went to pick it up. I set the pick up time for 11:15 and arrived on the dot . My first impression was that they do not keep to-go orders under a warmer; they are left in a brown bag on the counter. I don't know how long our food was waiting, but that explains the room temperature dishes. This also includes a salad that they put in the same bag with hot dishes. Why would someone do this? To make matters worse with the salad, they didn't include the dressing, even though the hostess told me everything was in the bag. Dry lettuce for lunch! But now, let's chat about my entree - the meatloaf... it's pretty much inedible. I took a few bites to put something in my stomach; but it's really dry (probably a few days old if I had to guess). I noticed they add celery and carrots to their meatloaf too - eww. If the meat was any good, you wouldn't need that much filler. Essentially, I paid $12.37 for mashed potatoes and a burnt and dry onion ring. The coleslaw was warmer than room temp, and it was bitter. I know my standards for food are very low; and taste is subjective. But of the three of us that ordered here for the first time, we all came to the same consensus of having no desire to return. This is such a shame because I was hoping it would be our top pick for places to eat.

Service friendly and efficient American menu, not much for vegans or vegetarians Not so healthy and a couple of salads, nothing exciting Pot roast was indeed home made, order without gravy and it's gluten free Lots of breakfast items

This was the second visit as I decided to give it another chance. Glad I did because the service and food was better than the first impression I had. Our server was amazing and she was on top of everything. The place wasn't too busy for a Saturday morning. Our wait time was about 10 min. I ordered the breakfast club. That toast bread was so good! Crunchy bite but soft buttery texture at rhe same time. Perfection! I ordered their spicy sausage patties on the side. These are way tastier than the links that come with other plates. Don't have any complaints for this visit. Hopefully I can visit a third time and take my kiddos.
