Birria Barrio

Hands down my favorite birria taco place. I've had this place for a few times now and it always exceeds my expectations. We tried the Birria ramen last time and it was perfect for a cold day, although I still prefer the Birria tacos with consume. Definitely will stop here every time I come to San Antonio!

First off, great little spot. I was hesitant to stop by a little stand with only outside seating in this extreme heat. One thing that was interesting was the horrible scent outside. Seems they were cleaning the dumpsters though...should have waited until late night to air it out though. The guy taking the orders was calm and patient as we decided what to order. Then the food came...great food. The sauce is spicy so keep that in mind. Tacos were great! Good job guys. Definitely took a point off for the stinky outdoor smell, but still a solid 5.

Great birria tacos that are blasted with flavors. The broth is not too salty and perfect for the tacos.

Ordered queso birria and wow, these were delicious! Ate them too fast to take a photo of the food and didn't want to upload an empty plate but we will definitely be ordering again and I won't forget the picture. Highly recommended!

This place rocked my socks. That's all I have to say. The gentleman who took my order didn't know a lick of English and that's when I knew, this was going to be an out of body experience. Everything I had here was on point. I will definitely be coming back! Much love, J. Wall

The birria tacos are good but the birria grilled cheese is a must! It is now a staple for a late night snack on any san antonio trips, just so that we can get another grilled cheese!

We were in San Antonio for the day and I had quesa birria on my list to try while I was TX. We just finished a quick visit to the Mission Conception and when I looked up a place to grab a quick bite Birria Barrio popped up, it was about 5 minutes away. We arrived in no time, cute outdoor seating, covered. I asked the friendly gentleman what was the most popular item on the menu, he said the first one, I ordered it and waited. About 5 minutes food came up. It was awesome!!!! It was my first time having quesa birria, so good cheesy, crispy, and loved the consume it came with. If you're in the area please check them out.

Absolutely amazing. New to these tacos but will definitely be coming back. My Filipina side is interested in the Birria Ramen!! Definitely worth the drive!

Upon arrival, there was a terrible smell, kind of like dead animal. Bad impression. There was a taxidermy next door, so could've been that. Besides that horrendous smell. I loved the outdoor patio and super cool bus that is made to sit and eat in. Service was fairly quick despite the busyness. They waited to give our drinks out until the food was ready, you could ask them for your drinks before. The food portions were great for their price. The birria and broth have a very mild flavor, The meat was very tender. I think it's great for those who have sensitive taste to spicy food. Their hot sauces were good to add spice to your liking, and I loved them!
