After making reservations a week prior for outdoor seating, we considered canceling due to the cold temperature. The outdoor seating was very comfortable with heaters. The food was devine! We opted for the family style portions, and everything was really tasty. There are plenty of drink options too! Can't wait to return!

My suggestion is to think twice before eating at an Asian fusion restaurant with little or no Asian customers. Their California-wanna be taste pallet that borders on acquired taste is too sophisticated for lay connoisseurs. We had three different appetizers (creamy Tom Yom noodle, Korean corn cheese spring rolls, and roasted Brussel sprouts). The noodle was too creamy, there was nothing Korean about the spring rolls, and half of the Brussel sprouts were not crunchy. The cook seems to be trying too hard to be fusion and the Asian identity unfortunately is getting lost in the mix.One positive thing about the whole experience is our pleasant interactions with the well-mannered servers.

Reviews looked really good for Best Quality Daughter, and came on an empty stomach. +portion sizes are huge, so you are definitely getting your moneys worth+service was great, and attentive +heaters outside on cold days +the pork belly was super tender, and had great flavor- the Phat Kaphrao Pork Fried Rice was super salty, don't recommend Pretty solid experience, definitely give em a try!

We were very pleased with our experience at Best Quality Daughter. There's ample parking in the Pearl lots regardless of what time/how busy it is. The restaurant is located in an old home and is decorated with lots of pink accents. It's super cute! The ladies at the hostess stand were very accommodating despite the fact that we did not have a reservation. They were very transparent and offered us a table until their next party came in, which I appreciated. Our waiter was very friendly and also made great recommendations. The food was excellent. We tried the mochi cheese bites and the drunken noodles. Both were wonderful and I would definitely get those items again. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Location is amazing ! It's in front of the Pearl and it makes it a perfect spot for date nights, brunch, etc! The food comes in big portions and it's shareable. My friend and I went, ordered one thing and we couldn't finish it but we both took some home because it was TOO GOOD! Great taste and amazing vibes. I love the aesthetic and atmosphere of this place. The staff was so nice and super fun! I would definitely come again !! *And then after you eat a little walk at the Pearl is always a plus*

We decided to give Best Quality Daughter a try, and while it delivered on the promise of Asian fusion, it didn't quite live up to the hype. After reading a lot of positive reviews, we decided to sample a few dishes: the mochi cheddar balls, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, cashew chicken, and pork fried rice.Unfortunately, the mochi cheddar balls weren't what we hoped for. They had a burnt exterior that didn't seem intentional, and after glancing at other tables, it seemed like that was the standard for the dish. Considering the amount of praise it had received, we were pretty disappointed. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was the standout, though--crispy with just the right amount of heat and flavor. It was definitely our favorite dish of the meal. The cashew chicken had good flavor but was overly rich and needed something to balance it out, like a touch of acidity or freshness. The pork fried rice was pretty decent.Overall, we're glad we tried Best Quality Daughter, but it was just okay and pretty pricey due to its family sized portions. It definitely serves the Americanized version of Asian fusion which is what you should expect. It's worth a try if you're in the area.

Located in San Antonio's Pearl District (so many cute spots here) this is a James Beard Awarded spot. Ambiance artsy with a 90's vibe with all pink wallpaper. Service was great! The cocktails & food was AMAZING. I'm still thinking about the food we ordered:KORERN CORN CHEESE SPRING ROLLS,MOCHI CHEDDAR HUSH PUPPIESIMPOSSIBLE POTSTICKERSSUPER GARLICKY NOODLESWOK CHARRED GREEN BEANSStill thinking about the corn cheese spring rolls with gochujang & the mochi cheddar hush puppies. They both were my favorite. The green beans were some of the best I've ever had & the potstickers & garlic noodles were classic. Service was good. Cocktails were delicious. Cannot wait to be back!

Still just as impressed as before. Tried the favorites from our first visit: popcorn chicken, mochi hush puppies, and green beans. Delicious. I don't think I'll ever be able to come here without ordering these three. They're just perfect dishes. No notes. We also ordered the pork fried rice, garlicky noodles and cheesy corn spring rolls. The spring rolls are such an interesting twist on this favorite. The veggie crunch in them, besides the corn, is the pickled bean sprouts. That plus cheesy sweet corn...cacophony of flavors. The garlicky noodles are just as advertised. Perfectly cooked noodles with just the right amount of sauce and garlic. I caught myself slurping. My least favorite was the pork fried rice but that could be because I took a bite with a few peppers in it thinking they were baby bell peppers aka not spicy, and I was mistaken. That kind of turned me off the dish when I choked on it. Maybe it'll be better as leftovers when I try again haha. The service here is wonderful. The patio is beautiful. I don't mind paying for parking to eat here. It's that good. Didn't have room for the lychee ice cream sandwich, unfortunately.

13 Dec 2024We wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been to yet, so here we are, in the Pearl area. The restaurant is in a converted/remodeled old home circa the early 1900s. The menu is relatively small, food items on one side, the drinks on the other side. We ordered two small plates: impossible potstickers and popcorn chicken and one large plate: drunken red curry noodles with wagyu flank steak. The server explained that the food items are meant for sharing. Oh, my goodness! This food has popping flavor. The popcorn chicken was the mildest of the dishes. It came with a ranch-like creamy sauce. The potstickers came with a spicy soy. The star, the drunken red curry noodles, were a little more than spicy as evidenced by the slices of peppers. Also, basil, mushrooms and of course, the wagyu beef. The noodles were incredibly long. This dish was really delicious. Service was great. Happy hour is from 3 - 6pm. Our bill was $58 for the three plates of food. The drunken noodles are among the priciest items at $30. Worth it. We drank water, which the server kept filled. We will be back as there are several more interesting items to try. Go there.

What a delightfully whimsical spot for lunch or dinner! BQD has quickly become one of our favorite places to celebrate. We've eaten here for Valentine's Day, my birthday, and most recently New Year's Eve. Every time the food has been excellent and the service has been exceptional. Our go-to favorite dishes include their wok-fired green beans, cashew chicken, and fried rice. If the bougie egg rolls are on the menu, don't pass them up. Everything is served family style. That can be good and bad. My husband and I like to share meals but when we want to try several things it's just too expensive so we have to agree on a few things. The drinks are superb as well. They are fun concoctions that you might not think about. Every one that I've tried has been tasty and loaded. I love the whimsical decor inside an old house in the Pearl district. Be sure to check out the wallpaper in the bar area depicting different San Antonio sights and the bathroom wallpaper with naughty and cheeky Grecian poses. Generally the noise level is low and it's a great cozy spot for a date or romantic dinner or just an intimate meal with friends. When were be recently went for New Year's Eve, the music was a bit too loud for me. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating with lots of recommendations and knowledge of the restaurant and history. Don't miss this gem at the Pearl.
