Benjie’s MunchTruck at Hops & Hounds

Y'all... I just had my first chicken on a stick -- an "only in San Antonio" cultural moment. I'll be honest, all this time I thought chicken on a stick was just a big chicken tendie on a stick. BUT NO! If you ever had Mexican milanesa (and FYI, I know other countries like Spain and Italy have their own version, which I'm sure it originates from one of them, as Mexico was colonized by many European countries). Ok, I digress... Let me just say I looooove Mexican malanesa. It's a childhood favorite of mine, so having it served on a convenient kebab stick -- served with a pickled jalapeno, as it's the SA way -- is clutch. This particular food truck is located at Hops & Hounds. And Benji's is also known for their award-winning grilled cheese.

I really liked this food truck. The service was great and the food was good. I got the barbacoa taco and the fries. Both were delicious. I highly recommend their special sauce. The food came out in a timely manner. When you're downtown,I would recommend that you stop by for a good meal.

This is an awesome food truck that serves their meals hot and fresh. This was the best Pattie melt I've ever had, the bread was so crisp and the Pattie was delicious. Cool spot to drink beer and watch sports, plus the doggos enhance the vibe.

Great food from a nice little lunch truck. The couple that run It are wonderful. The food is terrific. The service is excellent and the ambience around the college is pretty cool.

The sandwich was sooo good. I want more. The conversation that led up too why the sandwich was so good, was excellent. My mouth watered. Thanks to The Park at Wurzbach for having Benji's MUNCH truck come out to feed us! If you have not yet tried this establishment, go find it! The food is really good.

We tried the candied jalapeno burger from here last Saturday and I'm still thinking about it. Highly recommend. I want to go back to try other things they had on the menu. And of course, love the view of all the dogs playing.

The Artichoke and Bacon Grilled Sandwich from Benjie's Munch is amazing! Perfectly crispy bread with a delicious blend of smoky bacon and tangy artichokes. Highly recommend!
