It's my 1st time here. I always see cars lined up for dinner, so I figured it must be good. I ordered from the drive-thru window their combination fried rice and hot & sour soup. I'm glad the rice wasn't greasy like most places serve it. The hot & sour soup was different, wirh a hint of sweet. I liked it. I paid $13. I'd say it's a reasonable price for fast Chinese food. I'll come back again....maybe. Come check them out for yourself!

Bad, low quality food! Take a ten minute drive and go to town for decent food. You can cook better chinese food yourself!

The customer service is really good. We pulled up to the drive thru at 11:40am during the Big Freeze because they looked open. To be honest, since the exterior looks ratty I would never stop. But the Big Freeze (Uri) changed that and I am glad I ordered today. So at the drive-thru a really nice voice apologized very generously for not being open until 3pm. So we were disappointed but said thank you and went to the McDonald's across the street. Later about 5:30 we return, the drive thru line is long, but it was worth the wait. The same voice from earlier took our order and we got what we wanted. We had the pork fried rice, chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and crab ragoon. It is definitely worth four stars.

So Beijing Express on Blanco gets "meh" to bad reviews often. I used to order delivery from there when I first moved to the neighbo about 10 years ago, and was underwhelmed. However, things have pleasantly changed recently IMHO. I really want to share how great their food has been. I'm in Beacon Hill, and we have Pho Kim Long (Olmos Park) and White Dragon (Beacon Hill) as faster and takeout Asian food options. Lately, Beijing Express has been killing the game. Since they have been drive through only since the start if the pandemic, all food was takeout. I'll start with what I didn't care for first - shrimp dishes and cream cheese rangoons. Shrimp Dishes - I'm picky with my shrimp so I'm hard to impress here. I didn't order the Garlic Shrimp but my companion did. The sauce and veggies we on point! I would order this again with another protein option. It was smaller shrimp, not the baby cocktail teeny ones but not far from it. I would have preferred it more grilled then saucer but it seemed to be cooked in the sauce, but didn't seem to absorb the sauce flavor. My bigges complaint is texture which is my complaint for shrimp in general. I don't fault them for this specifically bc of my personal preference and in general I don't order shrimp. Cream Cheese Rangoons - crab puff, cream cheese rangoons - I have only found 2 places where I have actually enjoyed these bc they had crab, green onions, and actual flavor - TK Teriyaki TK Teriyaki Kitchen and P.F. Changs. So me not enjoying these at Beijing wasn't surprising. So the good...The drive thrus is fast and the food is crazy hot! Like so hot that you shouldn't try to sneak a nibble from the container in the parking lot bc your face will melt - that kind of hot. I have solidly enjoyed the value of their lunch menu options that feature Americanized Chinese dishes. The lunch options are all about $7 and include fried rice (ask for steamed) and soup (small extra charge of soup). The Sesame chicken is enjoyable but some may feel it's too much batter and too thin meat. I can see that but I like the crunchiness of the chicken and it stayed crunchy even after the drive home. The General Chicken does have larger chunks of you prefer juicier pieces. These pieces were softer by the time I picked up the food and made it home. All the stir fry dishes (black bean chicken, Mongolian chicken and beef) that I tried had great flavor! The pork fried rice - I've ordered 3-4x. It's a lot of food, and they have pretty large pieces and quantity of charsui style pork. I always get extra spicy, but rarely is it spicy enough. The best of the best?!? Well we had that last night. The Vietnamese noodle and rice dishes with grilled pork or beef, Vietnamese spring rolls, and the Thai Pad Kee Mao pork. The grilled pork on noodles or rice was perfectly charred with a slightly sweet sticky sauce reminiscent of teriyaki but with some fish sauce flavor. Incredible! Better than many Vietnamese places I have tried with dry , under seasoned grilled pork. The 2 spring rolls were super crunchy with a delicious filling served on lettuce leaves and cilantro - only for about $6.50The pad kee mao, which are also called Drunken Noodles are similar to Pad Thai in that it's more dry and less saucey (compared to lomein niodle dishes). However these noodles were full of flavor. I think they must cook the noodles in a veggie or chicken broth to enhance the flavor. It didn't merely come from seasonings. There aren't a lot of veggies to Pad Kee Mao - green onions, and super flavorful tomato wedges. The moans I was making noshing on those tomatoes were straight out of When Harry Met Sally. Another time, we tried the Szcheuan Chicken. It's not on their menu, we didn't realize this, but they made it anyway and never told us it wasn't on the menu. We just discovered that fact later when looking at the menu another time. It came out very differently from other places we've had it. Normally it's a stir fry dish, but this has breaded chicken (similar to sweet and sour style in breading) and had a tangy, slightly spicy red sauce. It was different from sweet and sour sauce but quite good. We only had it once so I'm not sure if it's always made like that, but either way divine! If you're looking for fancy dining, you won't find that here...but Beijing Exprsss on Blanco has pleasantly surprised me recently and it's definitely worth the 5-7 minute extra drive past the other faster food Asian spots near Beacon Hill. Next up, I want to try the pad Thai, some tofu dishes, egg foo young, and noodle soups. As with many restaurants, depending on who is cooking your dishes may come out different. Also check your order. Some people say things may be missing or incorrect, but I haven't had an issue with them but still always double check. Would I call them the best Asian food I've head? No, but consistently meeting and exceeding my expectations - yes!

Awesome fresh food, consistently. Currently only drive thru is available, minor inconvenience but well worth it since the food is priced right! I always get the combo fried rice with some hot oil on the side, super delish! Today I got the sesame chicken, no regrets. It was hot & fresh, some spiciness that made it all the better. Try it!

Ordered 2 meals and 2 soups. Total came out to over $24. Not sure about that math. One was a lunch special one was not. I questioned it and the man gave me a story I didn't think made sense. But I paid. When we got home the chicken had a weird chemical/fuel smell to it. Both meals had weird smell. I stopped eating as I didn't want to get sick. Didn't even bother calling to complain. I hear you Bejing. You don't want us as customers anymore. Noted. We will find another restaurant.

When I opened up my spring rolls this is what I got. A hard and burnt outer roll that I can't even bite into. The oil that comes with it pairs well with it usually but is only half full and kind of has a weird old smell to it. The two small rolls that were edible, the inside was half warm and cold and were soggy. I guess whoever usually makes them is on vacation or maybe day old rolls that just didn't warm up well. Either way, not going back and don't recommend.
