My boyfriend's uncle used to own this building years ago and had a shop here where he worked on electric motors. We were browsing a map of the area one evening and saw this place! We made plans to try it soon after and brought his Dad and sister along too. It was so neat to hear them talk about what it used to look like back in the day!Now it's a really cool, lively hotdog place. And these aren't just any hotdogs. They are so innovative and yummy! Everything we had was delicious and the service was top tier. The interior is vibrantly decorated with eye catching art and low rider tributes. Such a neat place!! We will be returning!

We were in the area for a conference and stopped in. The art is super cool. The staff was so friendly! The lady at the order counter explained the menu and gave us an idea of the spicier options vs the tamer fare for us spuce wimps (it's me... I am a spice wimp) I had the El Capone hot dog (I went with the bacon wrap, do it. It is worth the extra) and plain fries. Oh my goodness!!! It was the best hot dog I have had in a long time. The relish is tasty and not too sweet. The tomato was fresh and sliced thin. I was amazed at how good their mustard is! The pickle was also not too much dill and great amount of crunch. My husband went with the El Gallo dog. He is still raving about how good it was. Once he picked it up, it was GONE. Definitely will be back if we're ever in the area again.

Went out on a limb and did something different. Service 5 stars, food 5 stars and ambiance, another 5 stars. I had the El Samurai, no regrets. I highly recommend this place to everyone. There is some street parking, not sure what it's like later in the night. I'll definitely be back. Cheers to the staff

El Xolito 9/10Calabacita 9/10The angus beef hot dog is amazing. The bun holds up very well and very soft. El Xolito was very flavorful with all the toppings but that did not take away from the bun and dog. I've never had the calabacita made the way it was. Very tasty, so far one of my favorite ways to eat zucchini. The atmosphere inside is awesome. The low rider car mounted to the wall is awesome. Only downfall is the parking. Only 2 or 3 spots on road and 5 in the rear parking lot. I will be going back multiple times for the other hot dogs in their menu

If you love hot dogs, Texas-Mex and low riders, you gotta come to Barrio Dogg or you are missing out big-time! Delicious and creative hot dogs, special fries and sides, plus micheladas and other "signature" drinks all served with fast friendly service. Not only is this all in a low rider motif including the front end of a '58 Chevy Impala and running videos of low riders on 3 screens, but they also host low rider shows 1st Fridays and 2nd Saturdays each month. You cant miss this place!

Barrio Dogg offers an enticing experience with its unique and crafty hotdogs that pay homage to the rich and diverse barrios across the United States. From San Antonio to Los Angeles, Chicago to New York, each hotdog is a flavorful tribute to these vibrant communities.Their Micheladas are a must-try, promising to quench your thirst in a way reminiscent of drinking water from a garden hose on a hot summer day in 1985. The refreshing and bold flavors make them the perfect complement to the hearty and inventive hotdogs. If you're seeking a culinary journey through America's barrios, Barrio Dogg is your destination.

I've been dying to try this place since I saw it on TikTok.The location is south town off Presa behind Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken. You can park on the street and I think there's a tiny area behind the building for parking. It's a small building with seating along the wall and open windows or you can sit at the bar or regular table seating. You walk up and order at the front and the girl was very knowledgeable about the hot dogs and products they use in their food. We love a cashier that knows her products it was easy to order and I was able to sit anywhere available. They play the music loud enough to drown out everyone else conversations but not yours. Lots of freestyle mixed from the 90's, love it. The service was wonderful. Someone kept coming by to check if I was doing okay, brought me a new refill and took my tray when I was done. I wanna say the owner came up and took my tray, asked if everything was good and just such a humble person. Love when owners or managers are down to earth and sincere. Let's get into the food. I ordered the Capone which is a Chicago dog, my favorite. I didn't think 1 hot dog would be enough but it was STUFFED. There was plenty of tomato, onion relish and I added bacon wrap so they used 2 slices of bacon. The hotdog itself was not scrawny either (don't you hate when that happens ) I also got the elote which freaked me out a bit because it has this fluffy foam on top like a root beer float. It was sprinkled with tajin and a lime slice on the side. I think the fluff was butter and when I mixed it with the corn, OMG wonderful, just wonderful! I ate all of it and I was full. Also, the lid on the tea was VERY secure, which is good for taking the cup to go. I cannot wait to go back and try other things.

Looking for a badass hotdog with good drinks that you AND get for fair pricing this is the place! The service was great first time here and they immediately walked us through what type of restaurant they were even recommending some drinks and food. Most of all their style just gives San Antonio a fresh look all together I highly recommend a night out here!
