Bare Bull BBQ

First time to Texas, first try at Texas BBQ.It did not disappoint. Clean establishment Super friendly staff. Football on the tv's. Smokey deliciousness all around.

Wow this was a Great place! The owner was so friendly. The food was sooooo good! I had a three meat plate. The ribs, brisket, and turkey were the best I have ever had. Loved the coleslaw and Potato Salad as well. This is a great out of the way place, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately, our experiences have mostly been disappointing, with places often serving BBQ that's too salty, dry, overpriced, or lacking in seasoning. We tried the 5 top-rated BBQ joints in New Braunfels area, but none compared to Bare Bull BBQ.Bare Bull BBQ is a true smokehouse! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of wood fire sets the tone for an amazing meal. The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming. We ordered the three-meat sampler, which included brisket, burnt ends, and chicken, while my husband opted for the brisket sandwich. Every bite was delicious--the meat was juicy with perfect bark marks. The sides were equally impressive, and the meal was perfectly finished with their banana pudding.What's more, the prices are incredibly reasonable--half the cost of Black's BBQ. My husband likes it and I'll go because of him, but I'd rather not eat here. Tried the chopped beef sandwich and it just wasn't good. Tasted like the BBQ sauce was soaked in sugar, in addition to the buns being cold and dry. Nothing I've had here is delicious or worth the drive. Just not for me.

I ordered a half pound of brisket and one side; coleslaw. I didn't know when I ordered, but I noticed that it's more expensive than ordering one meat plate (which comes with one type of meat and two sides). I wished they could be kind enough to tell me. Unfortunately my brisket was dry and flavorless. Also, they forgot to give me any slice of breads (my friend who ordered the same way got breads). Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Before heading to Bare Bull, I always say "let's just get some a pound of Brisket" and I never learn. This time around, we ended up with a pound each of Brisket, pork ribs and jalapeño sausage. Everything is as good as the last time. For sides, the Mac n cheese is always a winner and so is the potato salad. There is something slightly different though.....the BBQ sauce. It's sweeter and we all love it! Dip a Texas toast in it and it's delicious. I swear, next time, I'll just get the brisket(I think).

Found this spot on Yelp and went for lunch after some boating on the lake. It was a Saturday around 2:30pm and it was empty! Quick service- Kat was the best! She answered all my questions and steered me in the right direction. I got the ribs, Mac n cheese, and green beans. I loved every bite! I felt prices were reasonable, portions were good, and the bread, pickles and bbq sauce it comes with were so good! Everyone was happy, though my friend didn't love her brisket. I would come back!!

I ate here over a year ago, another life another time never to return. But the BBQ is as amazing as before. The brisket was flavorful, moist, tender, and the sides, green beans and cucumber salad were perfectly done. The ambiance is real deal BBQ establishment, and the service is welcoming and with a smile!

Amazing bbq while staying in Canyon Lake for our first time. Service was awesome and the food portions were definitely Texas Big. Lol. Can't get this stuff in CA
