Bar 1919

I came here to have an experience and I did. Asked for a new cocktail with the flavors and ingredients I was looking for and I got just that.The mixologists here are true professionals, they take their time and like to craft new cocktails. The ambiance is extraordinary, very intimate and out of the ordinary. I would love to come back to this place another time. It's one of those places that you add to a list to recommend and be back for more.

Came here on a casual Wednesday night at a friend's recommendation. It's the first speakeasy I've been to in town. It had a rustic but new age look when walking in.We ordered the wild duck and lychee'n in. The wild duck was interesting. It had Austin still bourbon infused with duck fat. It had the smoky flavor of bourbon with an umami finish. It was def interesting and one of a kind.My wife got the lychee'n in. It was a martini-esque drink made with lychee. It was sweet, sour and bitter all in one.Would def become a regular at this location.

Bar 1919 is a hidden (and I do mean this literally as it's a Speakeasy) gem in the San Antonio Community! Upon arriving downstairs, you'll notice a classy but homey environment that invites wonder but doesn't feel exclusionary. The drinks follow the same suit & are sophisticated but approachable in the same manner. In any San Antonio Southtown visit, I recommend stopping for a drink at Bar 1919!

Unfortunately not near as good as last year. They don't dress the part anymore. The atmosphere was still great & period good music for a speakeasy. The bar tenders chose to make the drinks down in front of some much younger giggling girls. Totally understand, but, we probably would tip more if we could ask questions and watch the drink making process. Anyway, I'm not used to making bad reviews, but highly advise, get back to the total feel of a speakeasy or you're just a local bar at this point. Not sure if we'll return and we've bragged about this place to a lot of people!

Such a chill, mature vibe. Drinks on point, if you want a REAL GROWN drink, check them out. No games played, no foo foo drinks. Tons of whiskey, rum and tequila, they don't carry many vodkas. Don't bother asking for an espresso martini. They can make Caipirinhas which is AWESOME. They have actual Brazilian Cachaça, IYKYK. So delicious, some of the best I've had. Bartender was going ham on whipping them up. Perfect for a Sunday chill. Lowkey spot, feels exclusive. Must try.

The vibe was amazing inside and the bartenders gave fantastic service. The drinks were delicious and would definitely come again & recommend!

Dropped by Bar 1919 on a Monday while visiting San Antonio TX. Had read online that this was a speak easy bar. I agree this is a bar and it is a bit hidden with no sign on the door so you need to look you the numbers 1919 in order to find the entrance but while we were there it was NOT quite. We entered and decided to sit at the bar as several of the small tables were taken. We did get lucky as it was still HH on a Monday. But the bar was loud and it did not feel like a speak easy as most people were not speaking easy. So we placed our drink order and the bartender asked for a CC for our tab(they keep your card till you close the tab). The drinks were ok, not great nothing special so we sat for a while talked drank our drinks while deciding where to go next. I recommend you go here so that you can say you have gone to Bar 1919. It is a small place, there is a small parking lot( we took an Uber). I can, I saw, I drank, check off the list.

Visiting town with my wife and in laws and was excited to go here. Myself and my in laws really enjoy whiskey and tequila, so we were excited initially to see the large selection. My wife prefers to only drink vodka. We asked if they had vodka and they confirmed they do, but they told us they would refuse to make a vodka cocktail. To be clear, we were not asking for a vodka sprite, but any sort of vodka artisanal cocktail. They said they would not make it, so we walked out and took 4 people's business elsewhere.
