Backwoods BBQ

Well, Backwoods BBQ ruined my Birthday Bash. I had posted in the San Antonio Food Truck group about a month ago for a taco truck for my event of around 80 people. We had alot of food trucks contact us. I choose Backwoods BBQ because they seemed very professional and didn't charge me for set up and things like that. I knew from years past there would be alot of people since the last food trucks before did not believe me and ran out of food. Anyways, we agreed for Jan 12, he said he would be set up and ready by 11:30am. Sunday morning I had text him that when he got here, just call me and I would open the gate and let him in. A few minutes later he text me and said that they had a flat and he was on his way to fix it. Hey, I get it. Stuff happens. Now what doesn't happen is he never contacts me back.....at all. He literally leaves me on read all.....day.....long. Today is Tuesday, he still hasn't contacted me to apologize for leaving 80+ of my guests hanging. Nothing. Unprofessional to say the least. My guests at my party asking when food was coming and I had no answers. Instead of having fun at my birthday party, I am scrambling to get food for 80+ people. Then, after talking to people that have used them before, this is a normal thing for them to "Just not show up". I get it, stuff happens. But let me know. If you can't make it, Fine! I'll go grab a bunch of pizzas! Call it a day! But to just ghost me all day, forcing me to wait because you can't just text me back? That is cowardly. I'll copy what we were told for an elementary school event below. Completely disappeared when it came time to donate the 15% as stated. Do not recommend! Hello! Worse service worse food ever. This place advertise grilled brisket sandwich and guess what there were none. Then I order 8 mini tacos and Paid $28 incomplete tacos. There was only a few pieces of meat on each tacos. How are you going to charge that much money and not even fill up the tiny street tacos. Then I ask for more meat and I get a sprinkle on my plate. The disrespect. I will never recommend this place to any one.

If you like grilled cheese and Hot Cheetos, this sandwich is for you! I love their menu and the variety it offers. Their brisket is the bomb.com, most because I like burnt ends. Lol they also serve tacos and quesadillas if you're inthe mood for Tex-mex. They don't have a permanent location but you can follow them on FB to see where they will be setting up next!

There's always a food truck coming to my school every week but out of all the food trucks that come this one is my FAVORITE!! I tried their brisket mac n cheese sandwich today and the flavor is amazing and delicious I definitely want some more!!

I recently checked out some of Backwoods BBQ's food truck menu items. Including their sausage grilled cheese, mini tacos, quesadilla, and vegan bbq sandwich. Yes, vegan! It is made with jackfruit and is darn tasty.Everything is made from scratch and tastes amazing with great flavors. I can't wait to go back to try their brisket. Thank you Joshua for serving up great food and for your hospitality. Currently their food truck is at 6438 De Zavala during the evening and they also do catering. Let me start by saying I am originally from Texas and grew up on bbq. I Was greeted right when I walked through the door. That was a good start. I ordered a brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich with sides of potato salad and slaw. (They were out of baked beans). While waiting and listening to a few other people order found out they were also out of nachos. My order came up but was not made to go. The same person who took my order paraded it around the restaurant before realizing that it was supposed to be to go. Then he placed it back on the counter and told kitchen staff it was to go. Meanwhile everyone else that came in after me had gotten their food. The brisket sandwich was skimpy maybe like only having at best half a slice of brisket served on toasted white bread. Brisket did not taste fresh and had no flavor. The pulled pork sandwich had more meat but was dry also without much flavor. This definitely was not $29 worth of food. My recommendation is this place at best is okay but if you have another option please take it.

The food is good here! One time I went and it was the best BBQ I have had, the next time I went the BBQ was good, not great. But it's so good I'm willing to go again and again!

To say that I am disappointed in this business is an understatement. They were supposed to show up for our church event with over 200 people in attendance today, and they did not have the courtesy to call or message us to say that they would no longer be able to come. A person's word should mean something, and we were not given the opportunity to come up with an alternative plan. I will always extend forgiveness because that is what I should do. However, I would highly advise caution when trying to work with them.

At an event, took about 45 min to get a chopped bbq on a burned small bun. A few pickles, dry bun, no sauce. Menu gives options but no price, shocked when 2 small sandwiches with 0 sides was $38. If the price were on the sign, I would have gone down the street to Smokey Moe's. Not worth the price
