Family visit to our neighborhood kitchen (finally) -- see we have had food from here but had not stopped in to eat inside as a family. Enjoyed the BEST papas ranchera taco (full of spice and flavor) I have ever had (and it's one of my go tos at the top known taco joints in San Antonio). The tortillas were thick and fluffy and the yea was served in mason jars. Sadly, you will need to hurry up and visit because they will be closing in about a month due to the owner retiring.

Enjoyed breakfast in this small well hidden eatery. Service was fast and friendly. We were immediately greeted and my coffee was at our table within the first five minutes. I ordered menudo and a barbacoa taco to try them out. It was a nice surprise to find great menudo with a very authentic taste.

What a cool building ! The food is delicious and the tortillas are fresh . Their red sauce is very flavorful and the Breakfast taco was excellent. The french toast was delicious. It's a bit off the main roads but well worth the visit . I wish the outside brick walls could talk ...lots of history here. A very happy and cheerful server who spread her sunshine with everyone. Check out this spot near Floresville !

We were on our way to go fishing and decided to search for a taco spot... this place was a few miles away and thought to stop by to get our taco fix. It is your hole in the wall, neighborhood spot. (I could hear the cashier greet some regulars by their name) There was a couple of ppl in front of us, but they kindly made room when we entered. We ordered several tacos and the gentleman offered us to take a seat while we waited. We got: Barbacoa -larger portion compared to known restaurants Carne ala mexicana - didnt even need salsa *Muah*Country and eggChorizo and eggHubby didn't share but he says "they were good" Although the tortillas were not fluffy (unclear if they're homemade), we do not have any regrets for stopping by.

Hole in the wall, hidden gem, or mom n pop joint take your pick, Aurelia's Kitchen has an easy going charm for those that don't need fancy decor. I've been searching for decent menudo since arriving in SA. Some place it's been way too greasy, at others skimpy on the meat heavy on the hominy. Here it was just perfect, and with pata, despite only providing onions and limes as a condiments. The menudo was tasty and perfectly seasoned-outstanding! The corn tortillas were made in house thick and fluffy and delicious. Such a down home vibe here accented by patrons such as the cowboy wearing his shades inside-so cool - because he was not trying to be cool. Service was excellent, attentive, super friendly and welcoming! I will be back despite the drive from SA!

Old general store that was converted into a resturant years ago. Simple tasty Mexican food that satisfies. From the down home service to the history on the walls it's a great break from the high traffic fast moving places in town.
