Asian Star Super Buffet

I came for the lunch buffet, which was around $17 after tax. There is a good amount of selection! I risked it and tried the sushi and my stomach was not upset afterwards. I like their chicken On a stick, and seaweed salad. The service was fast and friendly. Inside was clean.

18 Dec 2024This was our friend's choice for his BD dinner. So, three of us arriving about 4:30pm. This is a pretty solid Asian buffet. Plenty of food choices:- sushi- all the usual chicken dishes - all the usual beef dishes- all the usual pork dishes- several shrimp dishes- fried rice, egg rolls, pork ribs, chicken on a stick, soups, etc. - a Mongolian hot barThere is a salad bar and a dessert bar. Soft serve ice cream. Our tab for three adults and three drinks was about $65. Not too bad. The servers were not overly attentive, but they kept the empty plates cleared and the drinks refilled. All in all, not bad at all.

I liked their mongolian grill a lot. You can grab raw ingredients and they will grill all of it for you fresh. I also liked their sushi quite a bit. They had a wide selection which I appreciated but didn't get to try all of it. Their dessert bar was quite extensive and I liked their cake and mango jello from there.The service was quick, they came around a lot to pick up plates and they were always nice. The buffet area was a bit overstimulating because there were just so many options but the seating area was nice and felt clean.

Asian Star had a tremendous amount of food choices. The service staff were very attentive.

I am not a buffet person, preferring instead to have kitchen personnel focus on preparing my order and deliver it directly to my table. I find buffet food cooked for many and placed in a warming tray for who knows how long to affect doneness. Which I found to be true here. That said, this is one of the better Chinese buffets I have tried in town. There is a vast array of options, from raw or cooked sushi to ice cream and other desserts to all the oriental dishes to pizza and french fries and salads. There's even a Mongolian grill. The salad bar has less of the typical lettuce and veg to put on it but instead more of the mac or potato or seafood salads. I found some of the fish dishes too done and dry. There are many types of chicken, some fried and some not. They were busy when I was there, so perhaps that accounts for the dining room not as clean on the floors. It is a large place so not a long wait. But overall I recommend if a Chinese buffet is what you are looking for.

Our family usually go here for weekend dinners! We love Asian Star Super Buffet because it's affordable, casual, and the food selection is pretty good. For three adults and two kids, our bill was $80.04 including one drink, which is pretty reasonable for the amount of food. We always tip in cash to show our appreciation for the staff!Some of my favorite dishes are the fried pork, Singapore noodles, salmon sushi, avocado rolls, honey shrimp, mushrooms, and seaweed salad.Even though it's usually busy with big groups and parties, the wait is never too long. The only things I'd say need improvement are the seasoning on the Mongolian beef. It can be a bit bland. Sometimes there's a bit of sand in the clams. But overall, we are usually satisfied with their dinner and price.

We found this place as it was the closest to where we were looking , The food was alright, not bad, but could have been better, they did have a good selection of food and plenty of it. service was good. Place was clean and not too loud. We enjoyed our lunch.

The chow is fresh, the soups are awesome. My go to dishes are the broccoli n chicken, spicy shrimp, beef n broccoli, and the soups, of course, with a choice of wonton, hot n sour, spicy shrimp (HOT), and egg drop, all very good? Great friendly staff. Ambiance is nice. I almost always pick a quiet table, away from the crowd. If you sit in the middle, you hear everyone's life story, (chisme)!! Lol

Got seated really quick and headed to the buffet. All the food looked fresh and was well stocked. I really enjoyed the fried rice and the egg rolls. Everything was really good. Highly recommend this Chinese buffet spot in San Antonio.
