Agave Grill Mexican

Debatably the best chorizo and egg tacos and the waitress rocked, great service, and attentive. I have what some might consider a unhealthy obsession with their chorizo and egg tacos. I am not sure what it is about them but it just seems the chorizo and egg ratio is scientifically calculated to perfection. Or they just have some abuelita in the back that knows what she is doing. Prices are what you expect, decent for the amount of food. Their other breakfast tacos are also great.I had the lengua plate on one of my many excursions and it was pretty bland. They can't all be winners.Machacado is probably the best we've had and isn't over salted. Drinks are I good, sweet iced tea, soda cans, and some aguas frescas. Bathroom is small but clean, Softsoap on the counter, and plenty of paper towels. I also don't mind going through the drive thru. Totally worth the wait, depending on the cashier.Lastly, I do have to admit my last visit was disappointing as the tortillas were really tough, and the chorizo and egg weren't great. I assume they were having a bad day, but it was really unfortunate. And it wasn't just my taco, everything was off.

I can't believe the reviews on this restaurants which is crazy because I stop by at least once a week & the tacos are always good! Customer service is 5 star! The same lady always works the drive thru and is so friendly. Always happy, if your having a bad day her positive attitude & their yummy tacos will turn your day around!Horchata and Sweet Tea are a must from here!

Agave is a nice little restaurant located across the street from the post office on Broadway. The food is really good and consistent. You're not going to find any fancy plates or frilly dishes here. What you will find is good taqueria style Mexican food. Comforting, tasty and consistent. While I would say that the food is 3 stars, I give this place 4 because the service is always friendly and they are on top of things.

A disclaimer for travelers. This is one of many local places to eat Mexican food. This IS NOT a fancy chain with a fancy building or a generic menu. If you want Americanized Mexican food then you'll need to stick with the big chains that pump out Sysco. This is local style food and atmosphere. A three star rating means this place is worthy of your time and money. It's cheap and delicious. Stopped here for a late breakfast. Place wasn't terribly busy and was promptly allowed to pick a seat anywhere. My waitress was excellent and very attentive. I have a criteria for food establishments in San Antonio due to the saturation of places to get Mexican food. Price and taste which includes the quality of what you get. I'll say it again if you've not read my numerous reviews. If your charging more than $8 for a combo plate of Mexican food, you better make it good and plentiful. It better impress. Too many places here to be priced above that. Agave Grill does it right. The plates are reasonable priced and the food is good. Not great but good. I had a carne guisada breakfast plate with fresh homemade corn tortillas and ranchera sauce for $6. I also like to add a taco from the breakfast menu for see if they are worth the $1.60The breakfast taco with chorizo and egg was big and filled completely. I was impressed. One of the better breakfast tacos I've tried anywhere. This is just one of many solid Mexican restaurant eateries here in San Antonio. Enjoy

Wayover priced. They tried to charge me $2.99 for one bean and cheese taco. Very disappointed. I will not be back.

The best breakfast potatoes!! Their enchiladas have carne guisada gravey all over them. The staff is very friendly and the place is very clean.

Great food been going there for years and years really good breakfast tacos but their plates and lunches and dinners are really good too and good prices. I feel lucky to have it in my neighborhood nice and close..

A lot of options on the menu, food pretty good.Took 20 minutes in the drive thru so don't go here if you're in a hurry.Had #5 Mexican plate. The taco was sitting in the enchilada sauce so it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Should have had foil under it.

The smallest 16 ounce margarita ive ever been servex. More like 8 and in flimsy plastic glass Nachos were coverec with something resembling melted orange plasticsweet older lady hostess and good view of water

Nasty ass food we spent 22$ for 5 tacos nasty ass hell!!! Barbacoa Tastes nasty as hell they didn't make my taco right! Was just full of grease!!! Not worth it at all!!!
