Sammy Carlo's Delicatessen & Catering

While we were in Boston we visited Sammy Carlos three mornings in a row. Kathy and Stephan are the owners and extremely friendly! The food is very good and the atmosphere was wonderful! Had great music playing and you just felt like you were home. If you're in the East Boston area I suggest you go stop by Sammy Carlos. Tell them Kristy sent you!

Really nice staff, great sandwiches. I got the breakfast bun and it was a perfect balance of everything. The egg was just runny enough and combined with the melted cheese, it was so good! I would get it again, but also want to try all the other subs they have the offer!

I hope this Boston landmark rides into the next century. I was waiting to pick up my mother at the airport and decided to get a breakfast sandwich. I am on that vegetarian food train nowadays and it was my first time having an eggplant parmesan sandwich. Praise the vegetable gods! So good, like better, healthier and cheaper than a Steak sub. For less than $9, I got this small eggplant sandwich, day old pizza (solid) and chocolate pie cookie while enjoying the views at Constitution Beach. This is a stellar small business establishment flavored in with a bit of Masshole on the phone and ringing you up. Two thumbs up!

Don't @ me but I'm a big fan of plain turkey subs. It has to be the right kind of turkey, roll, and MUST have shredded lettuce - no toppings. And after calling ahead and finding out I could have my choice of lettuce (whole leaf OR shredded) I put in my order. Pepper crusted thin sliced turkey, shredded lettuce, sub roll. No other toppings, no cheese, no sauce. Around $6. And - it was the best sandwich. JUST what I wanted. On one half, I added my mustard from my fridge, the other I had plain. And to be honest? The plain one was SO good. The turkey was very fresh and flavorful, the bread smelled so nice. It reminded me of lunch as a kid. My husband eats here often and has really enjoyed his meals, but I can't wait to come back for this turkey sub.

If you're a bizjet flight crew member and parked at the FBO at Boston's Logan airport, this nearby Italian deli is the perfect place to grab lunch!- Generous portions - sumptuous menu- Not overpriced- Friendly staff that plays classic rock in the background. I'll be back!

Nothing was left and couldn't touch the rest of our order, which works out. I fly out in the morning, no car, no restaurant near by or in hotel that is open! So, I have enough for 3-4 Meals! May save half of the veggie sub for my $60k a year limo driver (in FL college son) that's picking me up & we're heading to Disney! °O°They don't make subs like this down there! Trust me, I lived there!! (Nor in VT!)The Kayla's veggie (wrap) made into a sub, was stuffed with a ton of veggies, nice floret chunks of broccoli, roasted onion, red & green peppers, mushrooms, onions & cheese. Didn't take it apart to see what else was in it. Decided to save it for the morning!The chef salad was beautifully presented ...Panera you have nothing on this salad!! Take notes of content & volume!! Ok, #Panera, the tiny pinch of fresh cilantro was nice addition, but could of spared some some more so that I could at least taste it??!!Can't wait to have my salad for dinner topped with Balsamic vinegar dressing. Fresh mix of greens, fresh , olives, red onions & green spicy peppers! Additional side note! My hubby isn't a eggplant parm guy and could believe that the eggplant didn't have that funky eggplant taste! He was finished with his half before I was!! I started first!As I was devouring my half, I tell him that's because this was made right! The Italian way!! Yum Like grandma did!! I'm not Italian but grew up in an Italian family! Every couple of years I'll make Eggplant! Growing up, every Sunday we were at Grandma's, Aunt Louise & Uncle Artie's!! They all cooked! What a great influence during my childhood! Thank you again for the Awesome vegetarian selections, drink choices, service, delicious food & childhood memories!

Great little deli/sandwich shop. The breakfast sandwiches do not disappoint and beat the hell out of those microwave messes from Dunkin. My favorite here is the Sammy Carlo Special - high carlorie load but the taste is exquisite!

I really want to love this neighborhood spot but I ordered a rice bowl and they forgot the rice. Meatball sub was decent but not overwhelmingly good. I'll give it another shot and order some other things. Nice guy working the cash register but the rest of the staff looked unhappy.

I like Sammy Carlos subs and the people that work there. Today I walked in and there were no other customers. I ordered my two subs and waited until they were ready. While I was waiting another customer walked in and ordered his sub. When the subs were done they rang me up (friendly service) and I gave a small tip and left. When I got home and gave my wife the sub she wanted, she discovered that she did not have the sandwich I ordered for her. I quickly realized that they had given me the other customers sub and it was not something that my wife would eat. I never leave poor reviews but despite the friendly service it is unacceptable to be given the wrong sub when there are only two different orders that they had to get right. Next time I'll be going to meridian market or any of the other dozen sandwich shops in Eastie before going back to Sammys.

Great food and great service. Sammy Carlo's, Meridian Street and Carmella's are my Go-To spots in East Boston. It doesn't get any better than these three.
