Very enjoyable small spot w/ and equally small menu but substantial and unique cocktail list. Two of us had the Holy Shishito Marg--excellent. Food wise everything was great and different. Samosas had sweet potato and great sauce. Chicken satay perfect w/ a sauce more than peanuts. Panang currie w/ short rib would do again.Good prices as well.

WOWZA. Yelp needs to revise their rating system. this place deserves more than a measly five stars.I nearly never eat at the same place twice in the same week much less two nights in a row, but SAME SAME is definitely the exception to that "rule." when the wife asked for a MY YAMMY VICE (vodka, ube, pineapple, rose water, and lime) -- I told her you know it's gonna be purple, right? she's had halayang ube (the purple yam Filipino dessert) but didn't connect the two and rolled her head to one side and stared quizzically at her drink when it arrived.I ordered the TOM BROKHA (vodka, Thai basil, lemongrass, coconut, and lime) but there was a challenge with the taps and Cory only managed half a cocktail but those sips were enough to convince us both to have one on the second visit. I'm not ready to give up Grey Goose dusty with blue-cheese olives, but TOM BROKHA is as close as I've ever come. pretty effing tasty.SAME SAME brews expresso for their EXPRESSO MARTINIs and Dennis, another guest we chatted with at the bar, ordered one and it looked amazing too.we started with the FISH SAUCE WINGS both visits. their wing sections are ginormous and meltingly tender after being steamed before frying and pan-glazed in caramelized fish sauce. nice acid balance from the papaya pickle to cut the wing's sweetness. on our first night we shared the WONTON SAMOSAS (potato, onion, carrot, and Massaman curry filling with cilantro and lime aioli). absolutely perfect. the KHAO SOI (a Chiang Mai-style curry with pickled cabbage, red onion, and egg noodles two ways) was big enough to share. the menu lists chicken, tofu, and brisket options but Jeremy (aka Remy) the kitchen magician, late of Dija Mara and 333 Pacific) explained they'd recently switched from brisket to boneless, 20-hour short ribs. KHAO SOI might be my favorite dish in the world, and I love their version. the ribs were meltingly tender and perfect in every way. run, don't wok, to SAME SAME. they're open 4pm to 1am seven days a week. the significance of their hours is so restaurant industry folks have a place to eat, drink, and generally unwind after work.Cory and Shawn (and his charming wife, Cassey) behind the bar give SAME SAME a great vibe and a very personal, family and friends feel. Remy's debuting his expanded menu Monday, 6/10. I can't wait. chances are better than pretty good, tonight's for the three-peat. if you're in driving distance, I expect to see you there. ps: maybe I was wrong. maybe SAME SAME doesn't deserve more than five stars. maybe the only deserve one but from Michelin.

This was a cute little spot for a Saturday night. The drinks are really good, was kinda bummed they stop serving food right before we got there. There was a dj playing some decent hits. We also were able to catch an interesting drag performance. Overall, enjoyed our visit, and will try to come back to check out the food.

We got there to late for food but we had a great time and I got the Shitshizo and that was pretty good but my fav was sex work is real work haha it really is a lot of work sheesh! Lol but super chill laid back vibes, they had a lil drag show, which in my opinion wasn't good at all but it was about people having a good time and that's what made it fun! It's pretty small tho but we got there just in time to get a table yeeee

I took a friend here for her birthday. My prior 2 times was just for drinks, so this is the 3rd time (for amazing atmosphere & staff) but first time experiencing food. We sat at the bar because the bartenders are amazing. We had chicken satay, wonton samosas, and larb croquettes. They were all amazing, I really wanted to try a few other things, but we were full and my friend doesn't do spicy foods. I'll be back to try all the spicy stuff with my husband!

Definitely disappointed/unimpressed. Food was not as great as we read in reviews. I had the Khao Soi and I was surprised to learn you don't choose the spice level it just comes how it's made. We shared shrimp ceviche which was my favorite but not a thai dish. The chicken satay was not good at all. My husband had panang curry and didn't think it was very good. Portions are generous for entrees. Ambience was good. Service was decent. Overrated spot overall.

Great drinks. Great vibe. Very happy to be welcomed and enjoy Carlsbad at its finest.

My wife and I stopped by on a Thursday evening and had a great time! Drinks and food and vibe were all on point.

The small menu (3 entrees and like 9 appetizers) was no issue because all the choices all looked amazing, and everything we selected was on point. The cocktail master prepared some perfect drinks. The atmosphere was Modern Thai / Hardcore Hipster-ish, whatever it was, the vibe was cool and worked. Thai wings were bangin', and the curry dish with short rib was the cats meow.

Wings were so yummy- cucumbers were refreshing- cocktails awesome! Love this place- will be back
