Truly one of the best experiences on my Boston trip. Downtown there is a small sandwich shop that on busy days has a line. Hate lines but this is worth it. Small shop with seating inside and great service! Quick and to the point. But it's the combination of flavors and bread I love. Pastrami and corned beef! With slaw and dressing! Oh yes please. The cuban was also about perfect! Chips? Yes. Soda and other drinks? Yes!! Just go!!!

Love everything about Sam LaGrassa's except the price. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the hot pastrami sandwiches. Online ordering ahead is easy, they do catering for businesses all week as well as counter service. The only downside is the price. Around 15 years ago the cheapest pastrami sandwich was maybe $12 and that seemed expensive. Then it was $15 and that was the first sandwich that expensive downtown but people would still go. Today the price range is $20-$30 per sandwich, which makes this really a luxury lunch and not as much of a daily lunch spot. But if they can sell at volume at those prices, more power to them!

Best pastrami in Boston! Very tender, moist, great flavor, and nicely smoked (although a tad too salty for my preference). I dont think that Sam Lagrassa is necessarily as good as other renowned spots like Katz, Langers, or Schwartz (in Montreal) but the pastrami still very much hits the spot nevertheless! Tip: The pastrami here are cut thinly by default but you can ask to change the thickness to your liking. I personally prefer more of a meatier bite so I had requested for a thicker cut.Price of a pastrami sandwich as of today was $22

I've eaten here twice and both times I felt it was just OK. But I could be wrong because this place is poppin every time I've walked past. Perhaps I am ordering wrong. But I'm just not impressed. The pastrami is extremely tender and juicy but it's not overly flavorful. I also need to order extra toppings and condiments and I'm sure I'd enjoy the sandwich better. I live a good pastrami sandwich especially and Rueben sandwich with sauerkraut. This time I made a mistake and ordered the Rumanian Pastrami. It was very simple... meat and cheese. These sandwiches are very large and also highly expensive. $20+ each depending on which one you get.

I wish I could marry this chipotle pastrami sandwich. That's how much I loved it. My sister and I shared the chipotle pastrami with a Caesar salad and it was the perfect amount of food for lunch. Permanently bookmarked - I'll be returning for this. Service was friendly and very quick. Lots of seating available inside. Wild hours, make sure you check those out but it's worth planning your day around.

Been to Sam LaGrassa's a handful of times over the last decade, but writing my first review now. My partner and I got a pastrami diablo and southwestern pastrami -TASTE: 5/5 - favorite was the diablo w its sweet BBQ sauce and hot cherry peppers! The southwestern more so highlighted the meaty pastrami itself TEXTURE: 4/5 - the onions and cold jack cheese worked well in the diablo, though I preferred the melted pepper jack cheese and grilled light rye bread in the southwestern PRICE: 3/5 - prices have continued to rise over the years unfortunately. Total came to $56 for the two sandwichesSERVING SIZE: 4/5 - the diablo was loaded thick on the round roll, while the pastrami was more of a flat sandwich. Both satisfied us for lunchSERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 1:30pm on a Friday, waited a few minutes in line, and got our food less than 10min after orderingATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - classic sandwich spot. If you hit the lunchtime rush, seating (at tables or the bar) can get limitedPARKING: 4/5 - got a metered street spot on Arch St and walked 5min

I had the BBQ Pastrami sandwich. It was the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. As a NYer, dare I say it's even better than Katz. I ate it too fast, I should've savored the flavors a bit longer. My wife had the Chicken Classic and she said even that simple sandwich tasted great. The service was friendly and efficient; I was in and out in minutes. There wasn't any parking so we couldn't dine in, although the ambience was welcoming. Simple tables with enough space to be comfortable, a bit busy and moderately noisy, but not in a bad way. Outside you could find green spaces and open benches to enjoy your meal, if you wanted to enjoy the nice weather and sights while chowing down on your sandwich.

Probably the best sandwich that I've had in my life. We shared the pastrami and corn beef combo. The meat was incredibly tender and so flavorful. This should definitely be on your list if you're a sandwich enthusiast.

Delicious vegan wrap. Plan to pay a lot for a sandwich here. Not sure why they think they can charge such high prices (20+ for a sandwich). Better for catering... good sandwich, salad, pickle, chip options for office catering.
