SALT patisserie is my favorite bakery so far. The second you walk in, you're engulfed with the delicious smell of fresh pastries. They're displayed beautifully and look masterfully decorated. My favorites were their classic croissant and Rocher Eclair. If you're also a die-hard fan of chocolate + hazelnut, that eclair is absolutely perfect. It's filled with a Ferrero Rocher-flavored cream and is complimented with a crispy chocolate-covered shell. Their croissant was fresh and flaky, not stale at all (which is the case for a lot of other bakeries nearby, shh). If you're interested in gourmet pastries that taste as good as they look, look no further. Can't wait to come back and try their other offerings.

Salt Patisserie opened during the pandemic in Newton Center. The first time I passed by late one morning, it had quite a few people inside, so I skipped it and got myself a donut elsewhere instead.Salt has two person tables set up both inside and outside, and their layout is welcoming to those on arriving on wheels. A bathroom is available for your convenience and the staff here were friendly and helpful enough.I left with a box filled with a number of yummy treats. Though a French leaning bakery, they had cheese bread! The sort of cheesy goodness that you might accidentally consume in uncounted numbers at a Brazilian bbq. I found it wise to give everything a nice brief toasting at home to enjoy them at their best. The kouign amann ($4.50) came as quarters of a larger round, sweetly coated on top. The pain au raisin ($5.50) were made with croissant dough as well. The cinnamon rolls were light on the cinnamon but tender and delicious. Everything was very good, in fact, and quite enjoyable. My second visit proved similar an experience. We warmed up the spiced pear loaf ($6) a tad and found it wonderfully fruity, sweet, and nutty a concoction set on a tender dough base encrusted with sugar crystals. Their chocolate croissant ($5) was flaky with two chocolate batons tucked in the center.Of their two pastries with ham (croque monsieur ($11), ham and cheese croissant ($6)) I find myself leaning towards the first, as the additional bits helped to tame the saltiness somewhat. But I enjoyed even more their spinach and artichoke croissant ($6).(2023 visits)

Really loved the pastries here! I got a hot cross bun and canele.Lots of options, the croissant looked very nice. Also got a cappuccino that tasted very good and not too milky. Only downside is the small size of the shop, there were no seats left so we had to take them to go and eat them later,

The staff is super friendly. They have a metered parking lot across the street . Or they have meter parking along the street . The pastries are delicious . Today I had a passion fruit tart it was so good . The coffee is so good . I had the cold brew today with whole milk and vanilla . The barista is on point as well as super friendly.

Decided to stop by on a whim and got a plain croissant and the Romeo and Juliet, which was a glazed cheese danish with guava jam inside. It's pretty sweet and very flavorful, but the guava and cheese balance each other out nicely! The croissant isn't the most buttery, but has significant volume (ie not flat) and is soft on the inside. The counter staff was super helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend this spot for a quick treat in Newton.

still in my top bakeries in Boston no matter how many new places I try or how their menu changes. The best focaccia I've ever had, does not matter what toppings, but the pizza and last year's fall focaccia are so good. I hope the croissant garlic knots make a comeback someday, but I'm always looking forward to trying anything they produce.

If there is one thing I could change, it would be to make SALT not a 30 minute drive away. Then again, if it were closer I might be in every day, which wouldn't be *great* for my wallet or waistline. That is to say, SALT is absolutely fantastic! The baked goods, coffees, bonbons, and even the service (despite other Yelpers' remarks) are all top notch. The flat white had everything going for it! The coffee was strong and tasty, and the ratio of espresso to milk was spot on. Lovely bit of foam up top as well! The chocolate croissant (Pain au chocolat) was amazing. It was light, airy, and so incredibly flaky! All the fresh buttery layers and bit of chocolate combined to form absolute heaven. The bonbons I tried were excellent as well! Not only are they really pretty, but a crisp shell gives way to a fantastic and flavorful interior. The service in my experience has been friendly and efficient. I was neither ignored, nor did I feel pressured to know what I want when I just walked in.Finally, there is a question of cost. SALT is not cheap, and bonbons are $3.50 for a candy the size of a thumb from the knuckle up. However, considering the care and artisanship that goes into everything, the value is absolutely there. Thus, while not the cheapest spot around, the entire experience is more than worth the couple extra dollars it costs. The food, coffee, and service are all top-notch. Cute location too, it is just a bit small (they do have outdoor tables, weather permitting).

Lovely pastry shop in Newton with an impressive selection of baked goods. Despite it being pretty busy, the service was friendly and efficient. I got a slice of the kouign amann and an iced matcha latte. The latte wasn't sweet at all, which was my mistake in not checking. There are a few tables, but expect them to be full on a weekend. The space got pretty cramped, as there isn't much room for people to wait for their drinks without being in the way.I would definitely come back to check out more of their pastries.

SALT Patisserie is my favorite place for coffee and baked goods so far! The interior design is so beautiful, bright, and simply elegant. There is limited seating but this would be a great place for catching up with friends. The customer service was great and they were able to recommend certain items and drinks. They have a huge array of baked goods, lunch items, dessert pastries, and a good coffee/tea menu. We ordered the tiramisu/pick me up, bueberry danish, amman, pain aux raisin, rocher eclair, lemon tart. All of the pastries were beautiful and delicious, but my favorite were the rocher eclair and tiramisu. The rocher eclair was basically a delicious Rocher Eclair with rich chocolate and balanced texture. The tiramisu came in an edible chocolate cup and had such delicious light fluffy cream and a balanced flavor of coffee. For drinks we got the hot matcha latte and chai latte, both were delicious and came with beautiful latte art. Definitely will be back to try more of their baked and dessert pastries!!
