Located inside the Diamond Jo Worth Casino, Woodfire Grill is a lovely and elegant dining experience. Despite the fact that it's located inside the casino, you are not required to actually enter the gaming floor to get to the restaurant. If you go around to the side door, you can pretty much skip the casino altogether if you want. Also, even though the casino is definitely loud and noisy, the restaurant was remarkably quiet and intimate. We had the giant pretzel as an appetizer and it was fantastic. Then I had the Braised Short ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetables which was really pot roast, but really excellent pot roast, and my fiancée had the WFG burger which he said was great. A very nice dining experience, the service was fantastic, and the prices were pretty reasonable. Nothing remarkable, but a very nice place to have dinner.

Not busy, did not need a reservation. We ordered a couple sandwiches. An hour and 10 min later the waitress told us that our food had not even been started. She apologized multiple times but couldn't give a reason for the wait. Seemed to possibly be a staffing issue. Won't be back.

Its hard for me to give a real honest review of a normal night here. I was stranded nearby at the Holiday Inn due to a blizzard and this was the only place open for dinner. I made a reservation on Open Table and the girl at the restaurant said she never heard of open table. Due to the blizzard they only had two people working so the service was insanely slow. Thankfully they two working had great attitudes. They also had a very limited menu. 5 sandwiches to choose from, dessert was even limited to only cheesecake. When I finally got my chicken parm and fries I was very happy with how it tasted. That leads me to believe they have some pretty good food if I could only try the full menu. The manhattans I had were so so. But for $5 that made them taste a little better. I'd give 5 stars but really need to see the place under normal circumstances.

I'm traveling for work, and had to stay at the hotel across the street. There's not much for food around here, so I decided to give this place a try.I ordered the walleye and au gratin potatoes. The food itself is quite good. Based on food alone, I might give this place 4 stars. However, I really can't get myself to give more than 2 stars due to the overpowering cigarette smoke smell. It's really disgusting. Had I known it would smell this bad, I would have just grabbed some junk food from the Kum & Go on the corner and ate it in my hotel room.Once I finish my meal, I am heading back to the hotel and using their guest laundry machines to wash the cigarette stink out of my clothes.

Surprisingly nice environment for such a small casino. We did not make a reservation on a Saturday, so had to wait 45 minutes. Not their fault at all, but just a heads up. Make a reservation!We had the pretzel appetizer which honestly was awesome. After that I went with the BBQ burger which was also good, but the pattie was definitely a frozen pattie. Overall the food was good, not Las Vegas level at all, but for Northern Iow I'll take it. My one major detractor is customer servive. The hostess was downright lost, and unaware of what was happening. The server was overwhelmed. My one huge recommendation is invest in some staff training. It's obvious from these reviews that this isn't an isolated issue.

HelloI was there on 12/2. It was not very busy being a week night and it is a nice cozy place. Remember there is not a lot around. There seemed to be a lot of confusion. I was taken to my table and stood around in the main eating area waiting for the Hostess and Waitress to come up with a spot. There were 5 empty tables i could see. My waitress was the sweetest lady but i feel this evening was a difficult one. My meal came fast but my pre beer did not. The meal was the Smokehouse Chicken. Breast of chicken with a bbq sauce on it a slice of cheddar cheese with 2 pieces of bacon and haystack onions. Oh served with mash potato's. The kicker $24. It was $16 good not $28. I was expecting it to be amazing!! Good but just not there!! Spruce up the mash potato's more or something. I will certainly have something else next time! I get that there is nothing else around. And prices are probably more because of stale% and overhead. But with the prices most will expect something amazing. Thanks

Food was good, but was expecting better for the price point. Ordered poutine and it came out cold as did the lobster bisque. Had the parmesan crusted walleye which was huge and fresh. Would rate higher if it wasn't for the price.

On 6-9-19 We ordered the walleye dinner and the rib dinner. The walleye was so heavily breaded and over cooked the breading was so hard I could not even eat it. My husband had the ribs and they were luke warm and dry. We spent about $120 that evening. And will never eat there again. We had a better lunch at Arby's for $18 would do that again long before eating at an overpriced want a be upscale restaurant woodfire grille.The server was excellent.

Absolute disaster. $34.00 walleye, crusty dark brown bad. No side so I ordered au gratin potatoes that had been cooked yesterday then cut into squares to pan fry to warm up, yuck. My wife had a chicken marsala dish that was swimming in oil. The kitchen was terribly slow and possibly run by some McDonalds French fry cooks.. terrible experience

Pretentious sub par food. It seems the wait staff is trained to be rude. I have waited to post this because I had high hopes and thought my first couple tries were a fluke. NOPE, This place just is awful. First off, even if the restaurant is completely empty they ask for your reservation, if you don't have one. They act flustered and say I'm not sure I can fit you in. I have been seated promptly regardless of my reservation status every time.My next complaint is I tried to have my potatoe side replaced with a vegetable on a $40 steak. The waitress refused and said their were no substitutes allowed. I told her that was fine throw the potato side in the garbage and charge me extra for the veggies. She was upset by this and still served me the potato and didn't bring me the vegg. They try very hard to seem like a big deal but they they just ain't...
