Wooden Spoon

Just had some cookies this afternoon. Nothing special. Very very dry. We've had there cookies in the past and they were very good and moist.Maybe a new baker??Maybe just oldEither was sad

The first thing I noticed when walking in is how good it smelled in there! They have great baked goods and treats, plus other homemade foods like soup and sandwiches. I stopped in right before Christmas and got a selection of some different cookies, which were fabulous! They are also very friendly there.

I ordered a 8 1/2" round birthday cake from out-of-state because I was going to be in Mankato that day and didn't want a pre-made grocery store cake. I thought the cake would be a traditional 2-layer cake, so I was surprised it was just 1-layer. I probably should have specified I wanted 2 layers, but it would have been helpful if they had asked since I didn't realize there was an option. The decorating was nothing special, but the chocolate cake was absolutely DELICIOUS! Very moist and chocolatey. The chocolate frosting was a bit sweet for my taste,but the kids enjoyed it. Price was good. We also ordered pecan rolls and cinnamon rolls, which were yummy as well. Don't let the outside of the store fool you... This is a wonderful bakery! Next time I am in Mankato I am going to try the bread.

I love caramel rolls, and this local bakery did not disappoint! It was freshly baked with just the perfect amount of cinnamon in the swirl. They were friendly, and made me an iced tea (using Curiosity tea, another local business) exactly the way I like it. Excellent service, and delicious bakery items! I will make this a regular stop whenever I'm in Mankato!
