Mark runs a great operation and empowers kids to learn by doing. Highly recommend for lessons or camps.

I rode at WRR when I was younger and now I'm back over 20 years later. It's a great operation. I'm blown away at how well Mark leads a class and teaches individuals throughout class. Although horses are an expensive habit, they are able to find a way to make it affordable to average folks like myself. I highly recommend WRR!

Unless you are an enthusiastic little girl who LOVES HORSES!! this place is not for you. My child loves riding horses, and is a great rider, but has some anxiety which sometimes came out before getting on the horse. Rather than being understanding about the situation, they told us my child could not ride there anymore. They are certainly not understanding and accommodating to all abilities.

I took a 6-session group lesson package here a couple years ago. I found it fascinating learning to care for the horses, but the instructor/owner was not patient or helpful. I learned to trot easily in the first lesson, but by my third or fourth lesson, we were supposed to be learning to canter and I struggled. The instructor brusquely kept telling me to "put my heels down" but didn't explain what that meant I should physically do with my body in relation to the horse. My horse was skittish that day and I did not have control, but after a few minutes of struggling, the instructor took all of us out into an open field. He rode ahead of the group, even though no one was advanced enough to keep up, and when he called back to us, three of our horses got excited and bolted forward and I was thrown from my horse, landing head first. The next few lessons I was given a horse that was so old and bony that I could barely nudge him into attempting a canter before he'd slow for a walk again. I would not recommend this place to beginners.
