Regarding Summer Power camp program for kids...my 6 yr old is having a blast this summer with the program. First time for us. They keep the kids very busy and have 3 field trips a week! Wow! They get to do lots of fun activities, meet new friends and the counselors are very nice.

My child along with other children are told that they must shower prior to getting in the pool. YMCA however allows Muslim women and children to walk in off the street and swim in theirStreet clothes. What the deal

We love the White Bear YMCA. We live at the pool in the summer. It's so nice to have the zero depth entry and the pool never more than 2 ft deep for the little kids to play. It helped our kids get so confident in the water and once they are a bit bigger you can confidently sit on the edge watching them play instead of having to hold them the whole time. They also have racquetball courts, which seem a bit underutilized - it's such a fun sport, a gym, sauna, indoor pool, fitness center, and great classes. Everyone that works there is so nice too. Our kids love going to the child care area while we work out and ask to go often.

I had my 8-yr-old son's birthday party at the White Bear Lake YMCA yesterday evening and I just had to come and write a review for them. The space was gorgeous, and the accommodations were wonderful but the real reason I'm writing is because my guests (or, rather, their parents) kept telling me how welcoming the staff was and how much they were enjoying themselves and that made me so very happy. My interactions with all the staff were marvelous and everyone was so nice to me and all my little party-goers. I highly recommend this as a place to have a spectacular birthday party!

I love coming here. I normally run and have a hard time running on the treadmill for 5+ miles at a time. They have a pool, other cardio machines, Kettlebells, weights, and other great classes I can take for the winter times. Even during the summer it's a great place to workout. They have good up-to-date gym equipment. Parking is readily available for the most part. I think the pricing is pretty good too. They have trainers and that pricing is pretty competative.

We've been working out here for a couple months now and really have no complaints. It's nice that there's never a waiting list for childcare (my old gym would turn you away if they were understaffed). They have told us that they would rather short the front desk than short the childcare area. My daughter is always happy when I pick her up so the care is just fine by me!We also never have to wait for a treadmill, there are plenty to go around. I love the iPod hookups and the built in TVs cause running's not my favorite thing ever and I need plenty of distractions from my self-induced torture. The handful of classes I've attended have been good, but if you want to go to Bodypump, you better get there early and find your spot! That class is crazy crowded. The pool is also good, though I don't swim laps or anything just splash around with my daughter. But we have fun and there's really no complaints. My only beef is the ladies locker room always smells bad, always has a wet floor and for some reason people can't flush the toilets. But it's somewhere to change really quick and store my stuff, never had an issue with the lockers.Oh, and the family locker room is also a really nice touch!

Here are some things you should know about the aquatics area:1. They can't keep managers. They've had about 10 managers in three years. Expect inconsistencies in how rules are enforced and frequent confrontations between members and pool staff. 2. They aren't vacuuming the pools every day. The vacuum has been broken for months. The water is safe, but there is hair, bandaids and other debris along the bottom. The lifeguard chairs have been broken for more than two months. 3. Ants are crawling everywhere. 4. They can never find enough qualified swim instructors so lessons are taught by people no teaching credentials. You should request to see the credentials of the teacher. There is rarely a supervisor observing and no one is training the teachers.5. The published schedule is full of bad information. Expect to be frustrated to learn that you can't use the deep end, the diving board or find a lap-swimming lane.

Great place to work out. The facility is one of the best YMCAs in the state! I love the screens on the treadmills. I mean come on! Netflix while your run!?! It is awesome! Also the have a great sauna for after your workout. The staff is very friendly. It gets a little busy after 4 but that is the nature of the beast.
