Wakame Sushi & Asian Bistro

Never a bad experience going to Wakame. We got there at 9:30pm on a Saturday and were immediately sat down. I was happy we didnt have to wait a while this time. I like the vibe at Wakame. Its just people enjoying their time having good food. The food was great as per usual. I always end up ordering way too much food and I can never have enough Wakame. Overall Food & Vibe 9.1/10

Disappointing and Disturbing Experience at WakameI visited Wakame for happy hour with a friend, excited to try their sushi. However, our experience was marred by a series of disturbing mistakes.After explicitly informing our waiter that I'm vegetarian and my friend isn't, we ordered sushi rolls with and without fish. Despite this, the waiter brought out all the sushi on the same tray. When I reminded him again that I'm vegetarian, he simply separated the rolls onto different plates.To my horror, he then returned with the same sushi rolls, claiming they were remade. I was appalled and felt disrespected. Our server seemed put off and stormed off, making me feel like I was the one being difficult.Unfortunately, I started feeling ill after eating a few pieces and vomited multiple times on the way home. The next day was spent feeling horrible.It's clear that Wakame's staff needs training on handling vegetarian requests. The lack of understanding and care was shocking. While I loved their sushi, this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I was a little disappointed in my experience at Wakame. I heard very good things about this restaurant but my experience was mediocre. My boyfriend and I ordered 5 rolls, but 1 roll was missing. We asked our waiter about the one roll (salmon avocado) and she said it would be "coming right out". Twenty minutes later we asked about the roll again, and it still wasn't ready. Our waiter also didn't really check in on our. Their happy hour menu pricing is pretty good. I would come back for happy hour. Overall rating: 6/10

This is a staple sushi spot for me in the twin cities area. I truly go for the cowboy roll and I usually get it with tuna but today we tried the lobster mix and it was just as good. The service is always consistently welcoming but today was a little slower than normal but I can understand why as the whole restaurant was filled. The music choice is right up my alley, classic r&b hits which I always appreciate. It's perfect for a quick roll or date night, either way you won't go wrong!

This was my first time at Wakame and I must note that I am not a sushi fan, however, I knew they had other stuff on the menu. We came late at night for their happy hour and it was pretty busy but we were sat quickly. I got the shrimp tempura and shockling, garlic mashed potatoes, while my friend got a mix of sushi. My food was good, pretty standard, and the mashed potatoes were a lot better than I thought they would be for an asian restaurant. I would definitely come back, good food at good prices.

Great happy hour and huge space! Very fast services and great food! My friend and I got a couple of rolls and were stuffed! Love this spot! Plus Ben and Jerry is a few doors down!

Stop by for happy hour with two friends. The food was excellent. Our waiter was very well informed about the menu. They had great recommendations. Food was fresh. The music was really loud. But they did have their own parking lot which was free. Happy hour prices were excellent.

Wakame is a go to for a good Sushi Happy Hour! There are so many sushi options and non-sushi options as well!

This is my favorite sushi spot in the Minnesota, they have great plates at great prices but their happy hour is the best! The drinks are great and the staff is always friendly and attentive. They have a lot of parking for being in uptown, check them you won't regret it.

100/10!!!! The Andy's chips, wakame roll, and Crazy tiger roll were amazing! Our waitress was beyond helpful and the atmosphere was beautiful! We will definitely be back next time I visit!
