Our family has been a fan since the 80's. Best breakfast sandwich in America. Well, Owatonna for sure. When my brother in law from Seattle visits us, we always hit the pool hall.

Wagner's Lunch, or 'The Pool Hall' as most people refer to it, is located in downtown Owatonna. The family that currently owns and operates it has had it for 30 years. There is a grill and seating on one end and a handful of pool tables on the other.The food is old school. Burgers, fries, and canned pop. You won't find a leaf of lettuce or tomato slice in the joint. The food is fine but if anyone raves about it, they're not being completely honest. The reason you go to the pool hall IS to go to the pool hall. The food is just your excuse. In a way this place is the pulse of the town. A wide cross section of customers stop in one, two, or more times a week to grab a 'special' and catch up on any recent scuttlebutt or bitch about whatever sports team is currently underperforming. There are several booths and a couple small tables, but to really take it all in you should try to get one of the stools at the counter in front of the grill. Listen to the banter as you watch them somehow churn out the high volume of lunch orders on that small grill literally three feet in front of you, The staff is friendly but very busy.The business has done some cosmetic updates but still retains all the gritty charm of an old pool hall. Street parking in front can be hard to find but there's a decent amount of parking in shared lots in back.

The lunch was just right for greasy food. I really like the burger and fries. He also was really a nice bar and didn't have any smoke to it. And you your drinks came in soda cans.

Still perhaps the best burger I've had. I have wanted to write a review of Wagner's for years now. The place is an institution in Owatonna. They have a daily special the only one I have is Saturday 2 double cheese burgers, Fries and a can of pop. My Mom and me the kids head down there just because its that straight up GOOD. Its not McDonald's, Not Burger King.. Its a place were the place makes the food and the food has made the place....They have onions and pickles on the tables and at the bar... Sever you up the burgers and crispy fries decorate them like you want and put the ketchup and mustered on like you want. It was great for my kids as there tastes changed and it was fun.The bags of food flow out the door as groups call in orders for lunch. If you walk in just walk up to the tell them what you like, its that simple no real formality.. Grab a pop and get a seat or belly up to the bar were you can watch the flat iron grill cook all the goodness. I am not saying it will change your life but its a real fun, TV has a game on or there is talk going around restaurant ... There is pool tables and a couple video games to relax with why you just chat pass the time.

Wonderful atmosphere with the best service and burgers you will find anywhere! Breakfast sandwiches are also the best you will have. By far my favorite place to go and a "must do" stop for anyone in Owatonna! My kids also love it and request it frequently.

We drove out of our way to come here because of the good reviews. The positives: the staff are friendly, it seems like the locals like to hang out and chat. The negatives: the food was horrible. Their menu is small (would be fine if the food was good). They basically offer a few sandwiches. But, only toppings available are ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onions. I couldn't actually eat my burger, which was tiny, odd-textured, and way worse than even most fast food burgers. The tater tots were fine but $4.75 for a small amount of them. I left hungry and disappointed. My husband's pork tenderloin was thin, dry, and had no flavor. Was clearly a cheap frozen tenderloin, and basically the worst tenderloin he has ever had.

If you want to be entertained go to Wagners. There is no kitchen the burgers are made on a tiny grill behind the counter. The place is a pool hall that serves basic burgers hot dogs and fries. The hamburgers are tiny with thin patty, nothing too fancy. We enjoyed our lunch because it was such a fun experience watching the locals. The people working there were friendly and had our food out quickly.
