Village Inn Sports Bar, Grill & Pizzeria

Recently had my inaugural visit on a Saturday night for a Ghosts of Mississippi gig. The venue was perfectly set up to enjoy a live gig, thanks!! The acoustics and the view: perfect. Unfortunately I was prepping for an upcoming surgery so I only had water but the food my friends had looked delicious! Chloe took great care of us and well actually all the tables, never missed a beat, she was on top of it, all night, thanks!! I liked the wall of football helmets, all teams, pretty cool. The bathrooms were close by so it wasn't a long jaunt from where the show was so that you had to worry about missing much. The bar area was also well spread out and well lit. The parking lot wasn't huge but big enough and I think if it's full you may be able to park out on the street. Looked as if there is a little patio at the front door.... something worth checking out this spring and summer. Definitely looking forward to catching another gig here...while enjoying a meal as well. Thanks Village Pub for a comfortable, fun and well taken care of inaugural visit.

A Good Neighborhood Sports Bar with a Great Menu and some off the menu items that are an awesome surprise, if you're lucky enough to get Pork chop on a stick night plan on having 3 that is what I usually do anyway, the walleye they have is as good as if I caught it and cleaned it then cooked it myself, that says allot because I can do that and find it hard to order that when I can do it myself but I think it is as good as mine! The crew is pretty good and you are not going to have to wait long for anything

Each year a friend hires a party bus to take a group of friends and family around The Cities to test the best chicken wings far and wide (all the way to WI). This year Village Inn definitely took the win for best wings out of all four stops. They had the tastiest sauces (and biggest variety); their wings were the juiciest/ crispiest; and they also had the friendliest staff with the best atmosphere. Someone said these wings are double fried and I think this is what made all the difference. The wings are large with quality meat, so the thick texture of the double fried outer shell doesn't over shadow the meaty center. All of the sauces were good but because I can't handle the heat my favorites were as follows: Hudson Heat- this was almost like a fresh blueberry pancake sauce with a little kick. This sounds weird on a wing but just trust me it's so good - like a chicken and waffles type flavor. If you want wings for breakfast/ brunch this is it! Hillbilly Bourbon- this one is as the name describes a bourbon bbq. It's a nice traditional bbq flavor but with a little extra something. Lovely sticky smoky bbq flavor. Teriyaki - I love a good teriyaki wing and this one is for sure top of the list for teriyaki sauce. Super sticky and tangy. The way it sticks to their crispy wings to coat all the nooks and crannies just makes this so special. According to sources who do like their wings hot - the Holy Shit Hot wings were also amazing. A good amount of heat without being too hot for spice lovers. Other crowd favorites were the Parmesan Garlic and Kim-Jong-Wow

Village Inn is like one of those Cheers bars, "Where everybody knows your name". But not my name of course since this was my first visit. However, I came with a local, and he knew a few folks. They knew him too, and that's probably why we were relegated to the Cliff and Norm chairs at the end of the bar. Which was fine with me. It was a prime location to view the rest of the cast and crew.As I was enjoying an ice cold Summit, I kept getting this strange feeling as if I were out of place. Eyes were peering my way in a quizzical manner. Already self conscious that I may have broken with tradition or taboo, I asked a neighboring indulger if I were in a wrong chair. Sure enough, "Well he said, " that's where Patty usually sits". I knew it!! These local bars have their own pecking order, and that's why I was getting the stink eye from Pattys sister. But my neighbor continued "I don't see her around, so I guess you're ok". My local buddy further diffused the situation by buying sister a beer. All was forgiven. Beer is the olive branch of the masses. It mends fences quicker than bailing wire. I was off the hook and free to do whatever I pleased.....so I ordered another beer, and then another. Cliff and I soon left the Village and all my new friends behind. He wanted to take me to another locals joint. Something called Ziggys? As we were walking out the door, I could have sworn I heard sister say something in reference to Norm turning out to be a pretty nice guy. I'm telling you, beer can bridge the widest of social gaps.Quick Tip: They have pull tab machines at the Village. I, not knowing how the darn things work, asked if I could turn in winning tickets anywhere. A gruff laugh from the corner seat next to Cliff put me straight. In house only. Ohhh k? Who's going to question a prison guard. Certainly not Norm.

Good bar food and excellent service!This was my second visit but my first time trying the food. I wasn't able to enjoy the grub on my previous visit because the bars & restaurants had just re-opened in Wisconsin and they weren't serving food yet.My expectations were low. But the food was unexpectedly good. I got potato skins and the pork dinner special - yum! My buddy got fried cheese curds and a Philly cheese steak sandwich - good. We played a game of pool and watched lots of TV while we waited for our food.My only (minor) negative was my cocktail. I wanted to try a specialty cocktail. But the first 3 drinks I ordered were 86'd because of missing ingredients! In frustration, I told the bartender to just surprise me with a specialty cocktail, one they have ingredients to actually make. She made me a "Mounds Bar" cocktail. It was a nice warm treat on a cold polar vortex kind of day.The service was excellent. The bar tender was serving the whole place and she did a kick ass job.This isn't a Chef Ramsay kind of joint with a trained chef on staff. It's a local dive sports bar with food. We've been here once and *spoiler alert* we'll be back.It's a loud place to watch an American footing ball match, and a good one, with tellys all around, by jove! No people with fake British accents, however.Service was good, in spite of the volume.The food tasted good as well, because of the volume.Ok, but seriously, it's good bar food and they make a decent salad so that you can pretend to be healthy or a rabbit or both. I prefer both.Be back next season or before then! Ta ta!

Great sports bar with good food. Pizza and burger are my favorite there but also the cheese curds for a snack are amazing! 5/5 A lot of beer on tap and even more on bottles

Trish and Lee, you're the bomb! We hit this place early afternoon for lunch. I had the patty melt and rum/coke; he had a mushroom Swiss burger and beer (Spotted Cow, of course). When you can have the ordinary and it's extraordinary, that's your go to place.Friendly owner, bar mixologist par excellence, great vibe and outdoor dining, this will be on our regular rotation. The ambiance is pure sports bar with TV's all around and lots in separate seating.We all feel badly for the residents across the river who cannot have the freedom and fun we have on this side of The River. It shows in the friendliness and attitude of employees, customers and generally the western part of this state. Why aren't you driving to this place?

The food is always so good & have always gotten good service! We love to stop for dinner after a long motorcycle ride on the way home!
