Great selection for a small bookstore. When you spend $50 or more they let you pick a prereleased booked for free:

I can't say enough positive things about this bookstore! This is the reason why I hope the "Amazons" of the world do not push stores like this out. There is such a great variety of books here, and everyone who works here really knows and enjoys books. I got 4 books here and wish I had more time to sit and chat with the store's employees because it was just fun to chat with them about books. We also really appreciated how cautious they were about COVID 19: offering masks, wearing masks CORRECTLY, had hand sanitizer, and kept the store less crowded. We really enjoyed our visit here and hope to be back!!!

Stopped by to pick up some books that I'll be giving as gifts. There was such a wonderful variety of books that I have not seen elsewhere. I was asked if there was anything that I needed help finding within a couple of minutes of entering the store. It was a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged browsing. I never felt rushed by the employees which was nice. Because of that, I was able to find more books than I anticipated purchasing. Valley Bookseller is a gem of Stillwater and the St. Croix River Valley!

Super cute quaint bookstore that has lots of obscure or even rare books along with a few bestsellers/main stream titles. We stopped by because we were in the Stillwater area and wanted to check it out all together before we leave our lovely state of Minnesota. The bookstore is smaller than I would say your average bookstore, but it that doesn't mean that it doesn't have much to offer. Here you can find titles or even books that you may not find in your average B&N, and here we found a lovely poem book that was written by a local. (We founds this out after reading it.)The books are all moderately priced and all good quality too. Honestly if you have the time and youre in the area, and if you like to read. I would come check out Valley Bookseller. Its a local owned business with a family type of feel to them. (They even have a coffee shop connected to them, but you just need to go outside and around due to COVID.)Bottom Line: Looking for a new or different read? Come check it out. Its definitely worth a look.

I truly love independent bookstores and would rather come here for a nice gift or a self-present than anywhere else. The service here is very good and they will treat you like an equal reader, not a credit card. You can also count on the staff to go out of their way to be friendly and ask you about your book preferences, with great recommendations. They are also part of MPR's Member Connect program, so if you are a member of MPR, it's worth shopping here for the great discount and knowing that you are giving back to a local business that is so much more deserving of your support than Amazon, B&N or Borders.

I love this little shop in Stillwater. They always have something interesting or local going on. Valley Booksellers has a fab atmosphere with the aviary tucked into the center of the store and the seating area in the back. You can sit down for 10 minutes and browse a stack of books. The staff are helpful and will order you a book if you ask. They are also usually spot on with recommendations. If you come in and are looking for a Saturday afternoon novel for diversion, they will guide you to something that exactly suits your taste.Thank God somethings don't change. No matter how many big box retailers there are, small shops like this will always have my business.

If there's a bookstore, I'm there. In Stillwater, this happens to be on the north side of town. The selection here is limited and appropriately so; many bookstores have a tendency to overstock. Also, the climate and culture here is friendly and informative (as most places do in this town). As well, they offer discounts for book clubs - something I've never seen at a bookstore. It's probably the least touristy place we've been to down here, but for me, this is somewhat refreshing, and with limited space, they still managed to fit some comfy chairs in the back - a must-have.Check it.

Nice hometown type bookstore. The staff is very pleasant and I never feel pressured so I'm more likely to stick around and shop. They have a coffee bar in the back that offers delicious things to tempt me!

This Indie Bookstore is a wonderful gem that Stillwater is fortunate to have. Valley Booksellers has a warm inviting ambience and I love the fact they hold many events which support MN and WI authors. The staff is helpful and friendly and If you don't find the book you are looking for they will order you a copy. I have been in this store a number of times and can honestly say I always leave with a smile on my face.
