Travelers Inn Cafe

Love this little "Main St. USA" cafe. It's pretty retro inside, which was oddly comforting. The cafe was alive with a buzz of quiet conversations and servers greeting regulars.Our server was super helpful, providing thoughtful recommendations. They were also very nice and cracked jokes with us.The food came SUPER fast and everything I ate was really good, especially the egg bake! The pancake I got was enormous, but nothing special. Just a regular pancake.

Super cute cafe in the downtown of Alexandria, MN. We went just after Christmas and so there were holiday displays out and the town was very picturesque. GREAT service from our waitress, who seemed to know all the regulars in the restaurant (we came in from out of town visiting). I got the Avocado Smash Eggs Benedict for breakfast. So good! Hashbrowns were crispy on top and not overcooked underneath. Fresh avocado (good portion too) and delicious hollandaise with poached eggs on English muffin. The muffin was a little tough to cut through but that is the only complaint. Great and would recommend!

Stopped in here for breakfast after a weekend at the cabin. First visit here for us. We had 4 adults and 3 young children. The restaurant was busy and we were seated quite quickly. The hostess was lovely! Our server was amazing - friendly and patient and very attentive. I wish I had gotten her name.We all ordered various breakfast items and everything was equally delightful. Eggs Benedict, hungry man breakfast, pancakes, etc. Highly recommend!

My local friends brought me to breakfast here Saturday. This place... a crafty little minx! We entered through the back... I had no idea how large it was, nor that there was street parking and a front entrance. As we made our way to our table, so all the way from the back door, then later when I went to the bathroom, so covering all inches of the place....I found it kitschy. There's a wall with a bunch of art all hung in one area, a wall w some fake plants & hanging ivy, he room w the fish wallpaper, and the wall w the bicycle wallpaper. I've only been to one other cafe in SW MN that was like this, and I really like it, gives it character and makes it fun! We arrived around 10a on an August Saturday and the place was hopping, however there was no wait and we were immediately seated. We knew we had A Day in front of us so we ordered to get us through our travels. He ordered the Sausage Supreme Skillet, she ordered the Country Style Omelet and I opted for the basic Country Classic breakfast choosing sausage and sourdough bread choices. We all finished our meals and left full and satisfied, having ate delicious meals. I'll be honest, I unfortunately did not peruse the rest of the menu besides breakfast options, but I'm sure lunch and dinner would have just as wonderful options. Thanks Travelers Inn for a delicious breakfast and a surprise once I entered, your back parking lot entrance had me thinking I was walking in to a tiny maybe six table diner. Cheers!

This full service restaurant is always packed and it shows how loyal their customers are. Loyalty is earned and Traveler's Inn has been putting out a great product for many years. One of a kind!

We stopped in for a late lunch. Our order was wrong . We had to pickoff condiments that we didn't ask for and the soup was wrong. They weren't that busy just short staffed.

Great place for breakfast/brunch. We have usually been able to be seated pretty quickly even during the busy summer lake weekends as the place has lots of seating. The food has always been delicious. My only negative is that it can be pretty noisy when busy because it's a large place, so not a great place for those with trouble hearing in crowds.

We spent a week in Alexandria and ate here three times for breakfast. The food is delicious and portions are generous. The atmosphere is a typical cafe where the locals congregate. The best part of visits were our server who worked at anticipating and remembering our preferences. I highly recommend stopping anytime you are in the area!

My friend's and I used to go here during open lunch in high school and now that I've moved away, I make sure I go there every chance I can get whenever I visit!! Their food is amazing and a great price, the staff is amazing. I recommend Traveler's to everyone I hear is visiting Alexandria. It has and always will be my favorite place to eat in Alex.

Great breakfast joint with active vibrant dining area. Staff very attentive and courteous. Been here many times and hope for many more.
