This review constitutes two dinners at trailways on 3 nights, both which were great experiences. We had a group of 6 of us and we sat at the bar for dinner. Let me say that the bar is great. I was surprised at the great tequillla selection which included Don Fulanao and Siette Laguas. Dinner was great. Guys loved the pork chop. Salads were big and fresh. I had a fillet which was spot on cooked and seasoned. I'm a Chicago guy and have had my fair share of fillets that was one hit. Serivce was great. Owner was bartender and husband was cooking. Greta spot with food and drink and doesn't get better

Enjoyed a delightful dinner here recently. We grew up in Hayward & now vacation here. Our last visit was easily 40 years ago. The Northwoods charm is evident. You can hang at the bar or sit at a table & enjoy a supper club dining experience.Fresh salads & fresh-baked dinner rolls were a good start. Well actually, the start was a good drink with a basket of crackers & cheese. Anyway, the star was my jumbo shrimp, perfectly fried. My companion enjoyed the walleye cheeks. We saw several people enjoying the chicken parm too.We arrived later in the evening & were seated right away. Service was excellent but it is relaxed to give you time to savor every moment.

Trailways def brings the Northwoods supper club atmosphere. We had the fish fry, flavor was very good. Just a tad greasy. Great cole slaw, loved the onion rings...even if they were not home made.Great cocktails! Waitress, and staff very friendly! You won't be disappointed dining here!

Went here for Friday night fish fry and this place did not disappoint! Not sure why other reviewers said the service was bad or the servers were rude. It was anything but that. Servers were friendly and willing to do extra. And the place was packed! It's a small place with low lighting but very comfy feeling with a delicious fish fry and great drinks. Also, the directions to get there are inaccurate. Trailways on 27 used to be the old Trailways Inn on the corner of 27 and Hwy K. The directions Yelp gives I'm thinking is for Trails End on the far east side of Lac Courtte Orielles lake.

Wisconsin supper club at the edge of trendy Hayward. Cozy vibe. Lots of flannel. Chatted at the bar with some locals while we waited for our table. Went with the Friday night fish fry - and definite recommend! Fish was crispy, not greasy; served family style all-you-can-eat with a mound of fries and a bowl of coleslaw. Just what we were looking for.

Always a great meal. Great quiet setting. Very supper clubby. Not sure if that's a word, but even if not, the place is.

We visit friends from the Stone Lake area almost every year. Taking them to dinner is part of each trip. In the past they've not had Trailways on 27 on the list of places they wanted to go, but this time they thought we'd all enjoy it. We did. The change in ownership about a year and a half ago has brought an upgrade in the menu. Tonight, between the 4 of us we had a prime rib sandwich (featured item) and walleye dinner. All main courses were very good, as were the side salads and fried pickle chip appetizer. Cole slaw needed a little more zing (celery seeds?). Fries could have been crisper but were ok. Wine and drinks were tasty and ample portions. Service by one of the owners was excellent and she was nice enough to tell us about the changes they've made. This restaurant deserves a try if you've not been there for a while. Our friends who live nearby will be back soon and it's likely we will, too, on our next visit to the area.Ambience: Not quite a supper club, but more than bar/pub food.
