This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Mankato. Every time I am in town I make it part of my trip. Consistently the sushi is amazing and some of the best I have ever had. Mankato roll and Red Dragon roll are my go to as a spicy tuna lover. The service is extremely friendly and excellent! Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Second time eating here, this time dine in. Greeted and area was clean. Got our drinks quickly and our food didn't take too long.There's plentiful of vegan sushi options! Didn't ask about the noodles since I wasn't going to eat any.My sister enjoyed her sushi and spring rolls. The kids plate was much more than we expected also found a shrimp mixed in with the chicken.We had great service and would definitely visit again for the sushi!

Fantastic "over the top" Food...Ambiance acceptable...Service Failure...Self-disciplined to write five star reviews first.When a review less than five; will keep coming back until success, achievement, skills merit. In this recent dining experience it must be told...My family gathered here to celebrate a head of household promotion and another member who had successfully raced at a nearby ski hill.The service failure quite simply the waitress failed to bring the guest of honor's order. An entire family ready to dine with hot, perfectly prepared succulent meals yet one had none.Now how does one honor the reason for dinner out when the honorable one has none?Certainly this happens. What happened...The waitress took an entire family order by memory without writing any notes at all.

I've eaten a fair amount of sushi from places near and afar. But these rolls were Manka-totally d-eel-icious!... ;)Okay okay, all jokes aside, the fried one you see right out front was killer! Here's the lineup from front to back in the first shot:Volcano Roll with Spicy tuna, avocado, served with eel sauce and spicy mayoFutomaki Roll with vegetables and eggMankato Roll with Fried shrimp, cucumber, spicy tuna and crunchyon top, served with eel sauce and spicy mayoAll from Tokyo sushi and Hibachi in Mankato, MN No b-roll here--we enjoyed all three! The Mankato and Volcano were undeniably stars, but I'd say they were a tie. The warm, crispy exterior of the Volcano roll was far from subpar, perfectly complementing the smooth, flavorful inside. Although... the Mankato has a more complex textural composition, and you get to try a bit of the fried flavor with the tempura shrimp, which might take it to the top spot for me. The Futomaki was a fine, simple item of purity. Nothing flashy, just a good old sushi rollNothing fishy about this place! Expect average prices, an intimate atmosphere, an abundance of variety on the menu, and an all-around great meal from Tokyo Thanks to Cody for shooting some footage while showin' me this sushi joint and selecting some fantastic dishes!!

Amazing Sushi place!Servers: Always have been amazing and haven't disappointed. Always respectful and really attentive.Food: We live for their Miso soup! We even take some home as they offer 32oz containers. i've come to really love the lobster roll and the Golden roll just without the mango pieces. The crunch roll is also really great! the chicken udon soup is amazing and is very flavorful. The veggie fried rice comes with a ranch like sauce that makes it even more tasty! We go here anytime we're in town and want some good sushi as it is now our trusted sushi place!Price: You can't beat the prices! they're amazing and affordable and they even offer days that sushi and appetizers are either 40 or 30% off!

My roomates and I LOVE this place. Accommodating roll options for vegetarians which I love. The service can be a bit slow at times but the wait is always worth it. Their sweet potato tempura rolls are to die for, and the side noodles are so cheap and delicious!

The food was very tasty and affordable. My favorite were the steamed gyoza! I ordered the fried rice side and found out it had onions, I am not used to this so it's definitely an acquired taste that just wasn't for me. The restaurant was very clean and staff were friendly. I was greated at the door and thanked on my way out.
