Beware of those table cracks, lots of meals and bacteria in there. Maybe some COVID?
You can tell they cut and fry their own potatoes, one of my fries had a small sprout that survived the fryer.

Cool little place! Queso was delicious. Chicken sandwich was fantastic. Burger was just ok. Fries were great and you have to order the seasoned sour cream!

There are milestones throughout history that one can point to that subvert America, eating at the Stone Inn is one of them. Walking in the front doors I had to bypass a folding table that was staffed with a cub scout trying to sell me a coupon book or something, I felt like I had to juke left, then right, to make it through the front door. Success. The hostess sat my family down in a tucked booth in the bar area. We weren't hoping for much, just a quick lunch before an event in town. The menu is your typical Northern Minnesota offerings, so nothing special to be desired. I played it safe and wanted to try their cheeseburger and fries. A true base to judge an establishment. As we waited for the food, I couldn't help but notice the table was not very clean. As one of my pics shows, these tables were likely made by the owner or some neighbor friend who likes to make furniture as a hobby. The cracks and unevenness of the table were filled with old food from other patrons. You can see where they have attempted to seal the cracks with silicone. Though maybe this is on purpose? Maybe an appetizer before your meal?Once the food arrived... well, let's just say I don't have a whole lot to write about it. The burger was overly greasy to the point where my bottom bun was sogged out. The fries are drenched as well. Which made everything tasteless and disappointing.I had to walk past the same kid and table on my way out, still touting what he had set out to accomplish. Next time I go through Chisago City, I believe I'll keep driving and wonder if the Margaritas will ever make it under the 'Fun Drinks' heading of their bar menu or if they'll always be under their non-fun category.

The food is amazing!! Try some deep fried cheese curds! Or try the Brussel sprouts appetizer with hot honey, or the wontons, or the burgers, or the broasted chicken!! Have Brandon at the bar make you a mixed drink or a cold tap beer! Service is great!! We visit here at least once a month!!

I have had the opportunity to dine at the Stone inn twice. Both times the food was spectacular. This has become one of my favorite places in the area. They had a seasonal drink menu, attentive staff, and an enjoyable atmosphere. Ii will be back and highly recommend.

We went as a group of 5 and everyone got something that was different from the next and everything was very enjoyable. The cheese curds are perfect and the epitome of this type of restaurant in Minnesota. The "fries" are unique and outstanding, I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant itself looks like a classic Highway 8 restaurant and both the dining room and bar were very inviting. The service was friendly, but a little slow. We will be trying this again when we are in town!

We go with a group for lunch. Our waitress always does a great job of taking care of us. This time I had the walleye sandwich special that was very tasty. I also had the amber beer from the brewery next door. My wife had the prime rib lunch special that was delicious and more than enough. Always an enjoyable meal here.

Overall good experience. Be careful of the ribs. They are boiled or pressure cooked, not grilled. Very wet. Clunkers are spot on and chunks of whole chicken. Pot pie was great. Broasted Chicken was good.

We came here on a weekday afternoon for a late lunch. Service was quick. I was craving cheese curds, they were battered and greasy the way I love them. Then I got the broasted 1/4 chicken, two dark pieces. It was a great stop on the way the home from skiing. I'd go again.

Stopped at the Stone Inn based on Yelp reviews and yes, I glanced at the menu prior to stopping in.Seated promptly and the server Sarah stopped by right away. First, the disappointment: no chili :(. "We stop serving chili in April." Like, who came up with that. Can't be based on outside temp cause it was 34 yesterday and maybe 45 today. Oh well. Just be aware if you come looking for chili "No chili for you!"Now the good part. Ordered 1/4 Broasted white chicken and it was very good. Unbelievably moist. Seriously, if you think you have had moist chicken come in and try this. 5*Coleslaw was good but wayyyyyyy to dressed. 3*Great environment with nice wide isles. You can actually breathe in here.Be back again soon.
