The Rivers Eatery

Wow, this place is amazing! The food is sensational, the customer service is top-notch, and the ambiance is really neat. We were driving through Cable on our way back from Bayfield and decided to hit up Rivers Eatery for a little wood-fired pizza and a beer. We immediately fell in love with the place, as everyone working there was so friendly and accommodating. We ordered a pizza -- the White -- along with the River Rocks (a vegetarian meatball made from walnuts and cranberry bread and served with cranberry bbq sauce) and the woodfired smore. This is easily one of the best meals I've have in a long time. The pizza was really creative and full of flavor. And the crust was perfect...a little softer, but just crispy enough. The beer selection was plentiful, with many Wisconsin brewed beers. The River Rocks are one of the best things on their menu. We were raving about them and easily could have eaten several orders. If you've ever had the pleasure of eating the famous Trempeleau Hotel Walnut Burger, these River Rocks strongly resemble the burger, but are even better. And let's talk about the woodfired smore! It was the perfect way to top off a delicious meal -- sweet, gooey, and leaves you grinning. The prices are reasonable...quite inexpensive for what you get, actually. We will definitely be stopping here anytime we pass through Cable. I HIGHLY recommend Rivers Eatery if you're in the area.

Good pizza. Not my favorite style of crust, but imaginative use of local ingredients. And it was a good, tasty crust (I prefer a thin, almost cracker crust with a good wood-burning char). Nice selection of beers. Pleasant atmosphere. We were a large group (20 people including infants) and they never batted an eye. Love the bookstore in front and the pie shop near the grassy outdoor seating. Their ordering method is odd, but it seems to work well for them. I loved the art on display.

Drove up to Cable after LWC and glad we made the drive! This pizza was so much better than what Hayward has to offer (sorry, Coops). It was a bit smaller than I was hoping but enough to be satisfied. The crust is more of a soft, pillowy texture than the chewier crust I personally like. The topping selection is somewhat limited if you're in the mood for anything specific, but otherwise if you're just looking for something that feels good to eat and won't leave you feeling gross, this is a good choice. The outdoor dining area is nice too, though it can get cool on a summer evening. Plenty of ski jerseys adorn the wall, though my friend said hers isn't up there anymore!

Our family loved dining at The Rivers Eatery! We ordered an assortment of pizzas and salads and everyone loved the food. Highly recommend getting the Tilly's Cheesy Garlic Bread w/ pesto & marinara sauce (it was SO TASTY) and Tilly's Pie is right next store so you can grab a loaf and a slice of pie afterwards as well. The service was awesome and the ambiance of the restaurant was very cool (a lot of cool bikes with some super cool backstories). We will be returning next year when we visit!

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. The place was so loud we could barely talk. The gluten free pizza crust is basically just a tortilla with less flavor. The cheese looked and tasted like a generic 3 cheese blend. I ordered a cranberry chicken pizza that came with 4 cranberries and 8 pieces of dry chicken. The plain cheese and garlic pizza tasted like someone made a bad quesadilla. I asked for olives and they put 5 whole olives on it. And it took about 40 min to bring our food out. The root beer was good but that's about all I can say. I spent the rest of the night with stomach cramps trying to digest it. Do not recommend.

Fun atmosphere. Clean and airy. Lots of choices on the menu. Very friendly staff ! Open on Sundays is a plus !

Heard a whole lot of hype about Rivers Eatery pizza. All overblown from my experience. Went there with a friend. Menu sounded great....creative approaches to pizza. Ordered the "St. Croix" 10" personal pizza plus a draft beer. $22 & change. Meal was subpar. Artichokes were AWOL or MIA. Basil was so bland I thought it was spinach. Truly the blandest basil I ever tasted. No actual pesto whatsoever; none. Feta cheese was just a tease; sprinkles were miniscule. Crust was ok - B plus. But if I'd just wanted bread, I'd have gone to a real Italian restaurant and gotten starter bread free before the actual meal! At a real restaurant, a bruschetta appetizer would have provided a more filling and satisfying meal than this 10" "pizza". Asked the waitress for ice water; she declined and sent me to a self serve "water station"; no ice. No one ever asked how our food was. Arrogant staff. To really "top off" the negative experience (in a way the pizza wasn't properly topped off"), when I got home I got hit with an acid reflux attack that snarled my stomach quite severely. Had to take antacids, H2 blockers and a PPI. Bad indigestion, like the kind only extremely spicy or seasoned foods with peppers & onions produce. Never had such bad indigestion from such a bland meal. Won't return. Does not remotely live up to the hype.

We eat here often enough to where I should have already left a review. The food is consistently amazing, the staff is friendly, kind and efficient... and the ambience is comfortable & cozy and offers much versatility with outdoor seating. I probably would have missed another opportunity for a review this place but my 11 year old, picky eater, said it was "immaculately good" pizza. And those words are worthy of noting. You won't regret a trip to this place!

Fun ambience. Pizza was excellent always enjoy the quality of the food! Can't wait to go back!
