Permanently closed. Ramsey County decided more houses were needed, so figured it'd be best to close down the golf course, despite the housing boom and plethora of building space being readily available just down the road in Woodbury. Idiots

The course was in great shape playing in the afternoon on 6/15/19. For $5 I was able to hit about 30 balls before my round. The ranger greeted me before I went out, and I told him this was the first time I've played here. He gave me a little run down of the course and answered my questions in a friendly and professional manner. The greens rolled very true, and it was an extremely fun round. Not too busy, but I joined another single golfer to finish the last 3 or 4 holes. It definitely took some straight and strategic shots to score well here. Number 5 and 9 were the most difficult tee shots in my opinion. 9 is fairly intimidating as you can't see much of the landing area and there are hazards for the first 200 yards to the front, left and right. I would definitely play here again. Pretty reasonable green fees for the shape it's in. Recommended.

I somehow continue to underestimate this course (or perhaps I'm overestimating my golfing prowess). It's an unassuming par 35 tucked away on the edge of suburbia. The course itself tends to favor the putt for dough types as opposed to us that like to drive for show. From the tips it's barely over 3,000 yards, but if you forget to take the course management out of the bag you can still find a few opportunities to get yourself into trouble. The course itself is usually pretty well maintained and staff is friendly enough. Round length can vary significantly - if it's busy be prepared to wait since it's a short course that can get stacked up quickly. That said, if you go on off-peak hours you can usually get a pretty quick round in.Greens fees are so-so (word to the thrifty, they generally post a few tee times on ezlinks.com). They have a driving range (though I'm not sure what impact road construction this summer has had on the facilities). Clubhouse is small, but offers a decent selection of apparel and libations. If you can get a deal on a tee time or want to show off your iron play I'd recommend the Ponds, otherwise meh, you can probably do better elsewhere.

Hands down the best 9 hole golf course in Minnesota. Great design, extremely well maintained and super friendly staff. Glad they joined the Public Country Club program..play it alot more now. Wish they would expand this into 18 holes...has potential to be a top 5 course in the East metro with 9 more great holes.

We play at the Ponds at Battle Creek regularly. The course is in very good condition throughout the golf season and the staff is friendly. It can get very busy on weekends and the starter, Woody, always works hard to keep the pace of play flowing.

I love golfing here. It's a very nice course. Very challenging. I've lost many balls in the marsh and ponds when I first started golfing 3 years ago, but now I don't lose any. It's maintained pretty well too. They have a pretty nice driving range. $10 for a large bucket is a pretty good deal. The con is that it's $18 for a nine hole. I wish they had 18 holes here. For you rookies out there, bring lots of balls.

Mr.Woody is a rude person. Always trying to rush people off the 1st hole. Sucks I have to go to other courses because I don't wanna deal with him every time we check in or even rent a cart, because he thought we didn't pay for it before we showed him the receipt. If someone grabs a pull cart its because they paid for the rental we're old enough to know that ( 38,27,36 was our age group ) Don't ASSUME we didn't pay for it being rude about it. Ruined the rest of the day, played like crap because we felt we had to rush every shot. We'll give it another sometime in the future but they have to be people friendly no matter the color of your skin.

Don't be fooled. This course is a sleeper 9 that will spit you out if you let it.This course is good for working on irons as a better golfer. The layout is different, four par 3's, three par 5's, and two par 4's. This is why the yardage looks short. If you're not accurate on par 3's, you will not score well here. The general condition of the course is similar to any other county/city municipal. I would put it just below Keller and Highland in terms the shape they keep the course in. Greens are well kept, run a little slow. The bunker sand is nothing special, same as what you find in most Minnesota courses. Green size is average for a newer course, fairways are generous when played correctly. There are a few tricky spots where the fairway is cut down about 250 yards out. You may need to hit something other than driver on certain holes. Not much for trees on the course, plenty of ponds (go figure), no real threat of OB.Imagine a championship course mixed with an executive in terms of layout, while keeping the qualities of a championship in play. This is a solid 9 to work on your par 3 game, while still getting to work on the long game. The service is pretty good. The clubhouse staff will generally do everything they can to keep you coming back. The range is large but lacks targets/distance markings. There is a medium-large putting green even with a few small holes to work on accuracy. There is also a short range with a bunker that nobody uses. That might be one of the best kept secrets of the course.

Wish I'd had time to play 9. Beautiful little course. Professionally run clubhouse, driving range, putting green, etc. Very nice. I managed to his a couple buckets of balls on 2 evenings here.
