The Handle Bar

Love this place as a bar to have drinks at. This bar is not the place for food or good service. Our waitress was very rude, never checked on how our food was and when we tried to get her attention to come over everyone else at the table had finished their meals. The chicken sandwich I ordered was hard to bite threw, super stringy and tasted like it was in a deep frier for way to long. I ended up ordering another meal so I could eat. Much better food, but the waitress seemed irritated.

I get that there's not much to do in a small farm except drink, so I am sure that is why the Handle Bar had all its parking spots taken. But the kitchen ran out of food, twice, and we had to re-order twice. How do you not check after the first time?And their sign "Can You Hang On" needs a question mark. Sigh. Orange juice was sour. Food was the wrong temp, and burnt. Stay away and eat at Caseys. You'd have fresher food and likely better service.

Stopped in for lunch with my sister while visiting Atwater, our father's hometown. The burgers were good-sized and cooked perfectly - no pink, but still juicy. The fries were crispy and delicious - surprisingly so for crinkle-cut fries. The atmosphere is old wood and metal with plenty of space. I'll be back the next time I find myself in the area.

Stopped in today as we were driving through town. Started with a couple $4 pints of beer, great price, great flavor. Then a couple burgers with mushrooms and Swiss cheese - plenty big and the French fries that came with them were hot and crispy excellence. My daughter had a grilled cheese which was cooked perfect. Definitely a place I'd stop in again when in the area.

Was at the handle bar last night and had such a great time! The owner was very kind and the bar was a great vibe. Perfect place to grab a drink and bite to eat!

This place has gone straight down hill.To be great and the servers are still fun nice folks but the place on run awfully. No owner on site to watch what is going on. Just turned into a total disappointment.

There's nothing else like the handlebar burger! Great spot to grab dinner after a day at the lake.

Awesome bar, great service, terrific hamburgers, steak bites, fries. Good small tow bar and grill.
