The Grumpy Minnow

I was in town for a wedding and locals recommended I stop here before heading back to Texas. The place is right off the lake and provides a great view. I ordered the mac burger with sweet potato fries. The fries came with a marshmallow like dip that was pretty good. But could have been presented on the plate a bit better. The cheese curds were just what I was craving. Service was good, attentive and helpful, especially for someone who was from out of town and had never visited the restaurant. The one complaint would be that I had no cell service here and there wasn't a WiFi network available for guests.

G O O D F O O D !I have been here a few times now, and I am in AWE of the menu selections and the well prepared meals. The Kitchen is on point!As in most rural establishments, the service is hit or miss, but, that the way it goes. However, the Lake View makes up for the staff shortcomings. The other thing I like is the consistency of the quality of all the different things I've dined on here.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

I'm giving the 4 stars for the many previous times we ate here. It's always been amazingly. Monday was less than par. The shrimp linguine was awful. The Pasty "No flavor" sauce over under cooked noodles. The every thing baked potato was the size of a egg, no butter came with it. Minimal bacon as well. Seriously not the best experience we've had there. We will go back as this was a one time me only disappointment, we hope!

Great food and awesome views of the lake. Bartenders are super friendly. Definitely a hot spot in the summer season.

My husband and I were in the area staying at a friend's cabin for a long weekend. They recommended The Grumpy Minnow for a late lunch/early dinner. They let us know right away that there is almost always a wait. We waited close to 45 minutes and were bummed to not have anyone check in / update us during that time or even be at the outside bar. The outside bar had empty plates and glasses at each seat and despite waiting to order a drink as the host mentioned we could, no bartender or staff ever came to the bar. There were a good amount of empty tables the entire time we waited. When we checked in to see where we were, the host gave us a time and then a while later came over and said they messed up and it was our turn. We got seated and ordered right away as we had worked up an appetite. The food and drinks were good, the wait was long, and when we left, the line was to the door and tables almost all empty so not sure if it is a lack of staffing or what but it seems to be a promising location with tasty good but be ready to wait or come at times less busy (weekday lunch time maybe).

For that lake resort feel. Didn't try the fish but the steak was banging! Pretty view of the water. Smelt like the lake but i didn't care thats what we are all there for. For being out there its pricepoint / food quality makes it a little diamond in the bush.

Nice , quiet deck with lake view. Food and service were great, but I was bummed the burnt ends mac n cheese wasn't available that day. I will be back!

We have been coming here for some time. Usually good food. However, we stopped in on a Thursday, when they had a Gyro special. I have had Gyros elsewhere, so I ordered the "Special". I have never been disappointed here before, but this was terrible. I got two small pitas, with a couple of pieces of dry commercial gyro meat,some lettuce with tomatoes. it was horrible. I am now sure when I will go back. They should be embarrassed to serve such a menu item.

Best crispy chicken sandwich I've had! Service was great and food came out quick. Highly recommend

Customer paid so I can't tell you the cost of burger. I will say that the burger was really good for a small neighborhood bar standards. I'd recommend after a round of golf having a few pints and a double meat burger here.
