I really want to give theses guys a 5 star review. Yup food was that good. However the two hour wait, just not worth the visit. The hostess is the worst, phoney from the get go. She knew we'd wait and wait for everything, and kept smiling the whole time. After we received water and drinking it (waited 30mins after finishing) I flag down the hostess. Back rubs and phoney smilies and a "let me see if I can find a wait staff." "How about you take our drink order cuz the wait staff are everywhere and ignoring us and it's not busy. Even that kid who used to work at the Pier 4" comes out of my mouth. Drinks soon follow from a waitress we've not seen yet on the patio. She was good, but not enough to change the review.Food is 4 star:I ordered the shrimp po-boy, best I've had outside of Louisiana no kidding. 2 of my dining companions had the pasta al Alfresco and a burger was eaten by my semi vegetarian woman. I tried the pasta it wasn't bad, cooked perfectly al dente! The chef has a clue at this establishment. The rest have apparently never worked in a fine dining restaurant. Or even care about patrons dining experiences. The patio is exquisite and a great place to have a meal. If you're in town staying at a small bed-and-breakfast this might be a great place if you have time to have a wait until you get it meal. If you're just passing through, just pass through. We come to this area often and we'll stop back, I'll keep you updated.FYI: the table next to us asked for their wine twice in the time it took us to get our meal. Uncork grab two glasses, they'll wait for food if they're enjoying themselves.

Awful brunch...barely warm, very basic options, for the $17 price tag. Service was poor, waitress was doing her hair and talking to coworkers by the bar. Dinner looks to be a better option, but I will never be back.

All restaurants have their off days and maybe today was the Empire's. We stopped in for lunch and were presented with the Sunday brunch for $17 per person. Sat down at a table in their nice garden patio and were promptly searved ice water and advised to head to the buffet. That was pretty much the last time we saw a server - one came by later to wordlessly remove a dirty plate, but that was it. Had to flag one down to get the bill. Hardly anyone there so can't say they were busy. The food was bland except for some good sausage and French toast. They had 9 main choices, 8 of which were breakfast dishes and carved pork loin in addition. This was at 1pm. Also a couple of unimaginative salads, some pastries and a unimpressive but good lemon meringue pie. You can eat better at Perkins and get better wait service there.

Was excited to try this place. It is a nice space great patio, ate outside there this fall. Menu is oddly disjointed, not that it turned me off. Waitress forgot appetizer of wontons. Salmon with grapefruit gastrique was under seasoned and lacking flavor. Server informed me the wild rice had gone bad so opted for the pilaf. Blah. Disappointed in lack of locally available products. Paid for far more than received. Probably won't return.

A breath of fresh air. It was a big travel day for me and I got in late Friday night after their big rush and I thought for sure I would not be able to order any food. Au contraire, I was given a chilled glass of white wine on the spot and a salad with fresh greens and a light balsamic with grilled salmon, a perfect late night supper. I ordered the chips and salsa and was pleasantly surprised. The chips are original and gluten free and the refreshing salsa was the right amount of hot. I felt the staff really cared about doing a good job. Even though I could tell it was the end of their night they went the extra mile to make my experience delightful. The next day I went back for lunch and ordered the grass fed beef burger on a gluten free bun. It was perfectly cooked medium rare. The fries were cut on the premises and were such a treat. Keep up the good work. I will be back.

Brand new upscale restaurant in Alma Wisconsin. In the old Kate and Gracie's spot. Fun. Broad selections on menu with mostly made in-house selections. Fun craft cocktails. Enjoyed the signature Apple cocktail.

This is my my second review and I'm happy to say that this restaurant has VASTLY improved. Their Sunday Brunch menu is extensive with something for everyone. The prime rib was tender and not over cooked. The caprese salad was excellent with not too much vinaigrette and the scrambled eggs were moist and flavorful. The only thing we didn't care for was the French toast, which was a little tough. Everything else that we sampled was very good.I will be going back to try the dinner menu again.
