Took a gamble and ordered something different, the wild turkey omelet (turkey, wild rice, green onions, mushrooms, cheese and hollandaise) and it was DELICIOUS! Never thought of ordering an omelet with wild rice in it, but I'm happy I tried it! It was massive, with a side of toast and hash browns. It was pretty busy on Saturday morning, service was just fine. The restaurant is in an office building which was nice because there was plenty of parking since the other businesses were closed on Saturday. One thing I noticed is that they had nice artwork, but it was held up with big pieces of black tape..? Would have looked a little classier if they were framed but honestly it didn't affect my experience at all.

Tasty food, spacious restaurant, and great service!I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was really good! The dish was decently light, and the hash browns were perfectly cooked with a good crisp.I would recommend The Egg and I, come back to look at the hand made bags, and try other dishes!

An exceptionally average breakfast restaurant. You'll get pretty standard breakfast fare at above average prices, but the service is good.We got the Huevos Rancheros and Chicken Caesar Wrap. They were both adequate but not too flavorful. I probably wouldn't come here again, but the service was nice!

Consistent good quality food. Convenient hours and location. Twenty-ish minutes from the airport. The staff is friendly and they support their community.

We came here on our religious holiday which means breakfast places throughout the Twin Cities tend to get very busy. The Egg and I is located in an office building near the U of M. Thankfully, the Egg and I was not outrageously busy and for a party of nine we were seated pretty quickly. It was standard breakfast food and lunch options too. Food was decent especially if you're hungry. Prices are good, portions are large, and staff were friendly. The place is a bit dated but I kind of like it since it reminds me of dinners from the 80s and 90s. I'd go again if in the area.

The Egg and I is a local brunch restaurant. Lots of elderly people come here and the vibes are very "traditional". My friend and I each ordered two refs with American potatoes or hashbrowns ($11.95). A choice of meat costs an additional $3. The waiters really took care of us and made sure there were no nuts in our food since my friend has a severe nut allergy. She was very nice and welcoming! Overall rating: 10/10

Standard, reasonably priced diner in St. Paul. Went during the Holidays and it was very busy. Great service and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Really nothing fancy, simple decor and tables, but nothing bad to say either. I ordered an omelet which was solid and came with a few pieces of buttered toast. I'm sure The Egg & I has a lot of regulars. I wouldn't necessarily say it is a must stop if you are in the area, but if you need a good breakfast fix and a menu that has plenty of options, it will serve you well!

I ordered the huevos rancheros, and was served a plate of scrambled eggs with a bunch of raw vegetables and lukewarm beans. I hate sending food back, but this was almost insulting how unappetizing this plate of food was. I tried hard to eat it, but couldn't.I knew that this was going to be the classic basic American diner so I went in with realistic expectations, but the huevos rancheros were unacceptably bad.To their credit, the waitress took the plate back and let me place a different order. I got the buckwheat pancake which was pretty good actually.

This was our first time here. My son said, "I wish I could use the cinnamon roll as a pillow. It's so soft!" Everything tasted homemade and was delicious. We'll definitely be back!
