The Dalles House Restaurant and Lounge

This place is absolutely amazing! Our server handled our table of 12 people like a pro. She was tentative and got all our orders correct and help us split the bills after the ambience was amazing. My mother who wears hearing aids could even hear conversations going on, but the best part was the food, everybody loved theirs. I had the honey salmon salad and I want it again. It was that good, just go here already. The dining area in the back is family friend.

Great service and food.We enjoyed everything and were sat at the window with the courtyard view without a reservation. Popovers were bomb, shrimp cocktail shrimp were large and the sauce had a good horseradish kick. Prime rib was flavorful. Can't wait to bring friends!

Great service, friendly staff. Food was Delicious. My smoked salmon wrap was flavorful, with a good amount of salmon and the spinach wrap made it all come together nicely.My husband has the burger special and it was juicy and tender. Flavorful and a lot of meat! Dining area was clean and very festive. They have a very extensive dessert tray!

Just showed up at 5:20pm on a Friday as a last minute dinner with the family. (Family of 5). Glad they are busy enough to turn away business by not being able to fit us in because we did not have a reservation. Their loss.

We celebrated a birthday here tonight. This was my first time at this restaurant. Our waitress Theresa was wonderful. Our dinner was excellent. I read other reviews saying the place needs to be renovated. It's old school supper club-ish which I thought was great. And all the windows overlooking the waterfall area were cool. I loved it here and will definitely be back.

We ate dinner at the Dalles House on a Saturday night. Good service. The food was ok, not great.

I've really enjoyed this establishment in the past, but a recent visit was a disaster.They were packed, which is awesome on a Saturday night, and the host found us a nice table despite our lack of a reservation.It was just my daughter and I, sharing a weekend getaway, and I figured we'd enjoy a nice meal quick and give them an opportunity to turn our table.Well we weren't there very long, since the kitchen decided to serve me a 16 oz rind of prime rib gristle and fat, with a couple tablespoons of (delicious) beef tucked in here and there.I shared this with our server, who was very polite and immediately brought my plate back to speak with the chef. No big deal, they were busy and nobody's perfect?That's when things took a turn for the worse. Instead of resolving my clear issue, the management chose to approach my table and give me a lecture, in front of my mortified daughter, about why I was wrong in my assessment of my $35 meal, (complete with hand gestures?)I'm a middle aged, large, midwestern carnivore, and have carved this cut myself on special occasions.I know what prime rib is, and I know that a condescending lecture doesn't change the fact that I was sold a sub standard meal, and then insulted by the manager.Always looked forward to visiting Dallas House because of the cool vibe and great food, disappointed that a minor kitchen goof escalated to this unpleasant and bizarre experience.

Dalles is what is called a supper club in Wisconsin. It has a beautiful interior and the staff are all polite and helpful. I had a chowder that was the best that I have had in sometime. The ribeye however was a real let down. Small in overall size and almost paper thin it barely qualifies as a steak. It's well seasoned but given the atmosphere I anticipated a heavier cut. Au gratin potatoes were on the dry side. The popovers are good and are kind of cute

Our family so rarely goes out for dinner due to cost and food quality. We were in the area and remembered this place from childhood. I'm so glad we decided to take a chance! Walleye fingers were huge and crispy, our medium rare steak could not have been more perfectly cooked and the popovers? Forget about it. Our server, Amanda was a server I had ZERO complaints about. I was a server for 32 years and always find something I would've done differently. How refreshing to have one who takes her "job" as seriously as I always did. The entire staff was on top of everything. Made our day! I can't say enough. Go!!!!

Excellent restaurant! We go there for birthdays and anniversaries and any other special occasion. The food is delicious.!!! And, don't forget the art of the Popover! Yum!
