I went to this on a party bus route. I had no idea there were male strip joints in Minnesota but then again, I never looked for one. Anyway, my girl was turning 25 and we had a crew of 6 giggly, intoxicated and loud girls. We bought her a private dance and she giggled her way through it. I must say, the dancers were nimble and we wanted to take them home as souvenirs. I recommend this place. Can't wait to go again. Honestly if you think this review has no use, it's probably because my recollection of that night is fuzzy at best

Cool place in a very convenient location along 65 if heading north out of the cities. Broasted chicken is delicious and they have cold beer. Sodas and tea are bottled/canned (no free refills) so the tap beer is the best deal when it comes to beverages. Tried a chicken sandwich last time I was in there and wasn't overly impressed but it wasn't bad either, They didn't offer cheese curds as a side so they charged about $8 for those, not the best deal. Worth stopping for a bite, but stick with the broasted chicken!

A friend and I found this place while visiting Minneapolis a while back. We were out on the town on a Friday night just walking around doing some barhopping. We're straight, we knew this was a gay bar, but we had stopped to ask the doorman for directions to a place we were looking for and he ended up talking us into coming on inside. We ended up having a lot of fun here. Everyone was friendly and we had some good conversations. Several of people we met were very funny. A few said they wanted to "convert" us, but they were just kidding around and nothing made us uncomfortable at all. There was a show underway and it was fun to watch while we worked on our drinks.Anyone who is uptight enough to refuse to go to a place like this because of the format needs to lighten up. Life's about having fun.

Being that my cousin is part owner and also the bartender this is probably a little biased... a little. But I absolutely love going to The Brass Rail! It's such a fun little dive bar to go to, the people are generally friendly, and the drinks are SUPER reasonable! The dancers are really fun to talk to and watch, and the music they have playing is always really great! I don't think I have one complaint about the place, especially now that they have rennovated the entire space.Get there for 3-4-1's, it's quite possibly the best deal of any downtown bar I've ever been to!

I only went here for a Pride after party but I must say it was fun as hell. Some of the best house I have heard in Minneapolis outside Foundation and Quest. There was live painting and the beer blast was $5 all you can drink. And such a cool crowd. The most diverse I think I have ever experienced here, and the vast majority were hott and down to earth.Make no mistake, it is a gay bar, but anyone not wrapped up in themselves would be comfortable striking up a convo.Yeah cattiness can sometimes be annoying, but shit, have a beer, shut-up and dance. The house dj seems cool as shit too.Edit: I can no longer vouch for the house dj. "you can only signal me so many times to play whitney houston before I fucking lose it." So it is.

I have no idea why other reviews are so good. The bar is a mess, the strippers are a mess, and the bartenders are awful. It smells bad. The bartender dropped my lime on the filthy counter, then continued to put it in my drink. When I explained I didn't want it, he was confused. Obviously he was never trained on contamination. One of the strippers scared the girls I was with away, as he was DEMANDING money from them. The only good thing about the place is that you can go elsewhere, as the location is prime.

DO NOT GO HERE. I went out on Saturday night with my girlfriends. We were in line for the brass rail and as he checked my ID I stated how badly I had to pee to my friends. He told me I can't use the bathroom until I bought a drink and I told him that I really had to go but I promise I would buy one after. My friend was actually at the bar buying three shots by the time I was waking to the bathroom. All the sudden the bouncer was chasing after me and when I reached the bathroom door he used physical force to stop me from using the restroom. He blocked me from the door and treated me as if I'm less of a human by grabbing and pushing me. He actually grabbed me so hard it left bruises. He wouldn't stop even after I was crying and when I used self defense he just grabbed me harder. I eventually got in the bathroom but not without him shouting obscene words at me. He left his spot at the front of the door to chase after me because I walked to the bathroom, this was crazy to me that he was so determined to stop me from basic human rights such as using the restroom. I followed the rules. I gave my ID. My friend was buying drinks. Yet he got abusive with me for no reason. I didn't get a name but he had long hair and a long beard. I am embarrassed, disgusted, and will never go here or recommend this place ever again.

Best place on earth. I'll be sober and keep my pussy wrapped in plastic wrap in the fridge until it opens again because no one else deserves it.
