The BlackTop Bar and Grill

Really great bar food, shady patio, friendly service. We had the homemade jalapeño poppers, walleye basket and patty melt-it was way too much food for two people-would have been plenty for three or four. I am planning a trip back already for those poppers and the homemade potato salad was a standout. This place is a half block off the state bike trail and you should plan your entire day around stopping to eat here, I think.

This is a frequent stop for our bicycling group due to the proximity to the paved bike trail only one block away. We consistently get great service, excellent food and cold drinks. We stopped by after hunting last night and they had several new menu options and a lively bingo session going on. I tried the new Cobb Salad offering and was beyond impressed! Huge portion, delicious juicy chicken, perfect eggs, bacon, blue cheese, an entire avocado and crisp lettuce. Hit it out of the park, and will definitely be back to have it again.

Burger was fantastic! The young bartender was more enamored with socializing with the locals than tending bar. I had to flag him down twice, once for a beer and then for the check. He paid absolutely no attention to the two guys that came in and sat at a table and waited, and waited, while he continued his drunk story with the locals. He was definitely on the WRONG side of the bar. It is very irritating as a customer to feel like you are putting workers out when you are there to be served. Food is consistently great. Too bad they lack good help!!

Great food and service with decent prices. The cheese curds were amazing and we also really enjoyed The Cubano.
