Tav On The Ave

The waffle fries and seasoned sour cream are always the best part of a meal at Tav On The Ave. Between these and the wings, you can not go wrong!The drinks are fun and there are options for absolutely everyone.

Tav is a regular on our local restaurant rotation and it never disappoints. They recently updated their menu to include some new menu items. I tried their new Bang Bang Shrimp tacos and they were delicious, they definitely had a spicy bang which I loved. Super fries are a staple app that come with ranch dipping sauce. They have the best ranch around, imo. I tried their margarita, they have an option to upgrade to house infused tequila which I did. Their jalapeño infused margarita was my favorite drink I have had there! Definitely recommend but it is very spicy so not for the faint of heart. Service is always attentive and friendly. They keep us coming back. (Can't wait for patio season to utilize their lovely patio.)

One of Mankato's best places to eat and drink.The menu has something for everybody, it's always good. Service is great, even when it's packed on a Friday for dinner.

The wings were good and the variety of flavors were new to me. The Caribbean jerk wasn't my favorite but I'm sure it's my taste buds. The service was good the waitress was very accommodating. It was just a regular town bar and parking was very easy.

Service was great, food was good, i liked the sports bar atmosphere but it was a little loud for the dinner rush with the family. Not perfect for a family night out but great for appetizers with friends, prices are also a bit on the above average side.

Best dining experience I've had in a long while! Allie at the bar was so nice and very attentive! Food was awesome, the price was really good for the quality. I would recommend the Cubana sandwich. I also had a waffle fry platter that was really good. I had a CBD-infused cocktail that was so good and another that I can't remember the name of. Top to bottom a great experience. If I'm ever here again I will definitely come by again.

Tav on the Ave had always been a favorite stop of ours when we were in the Mankato area. This time, our dining experience was terrible. Our group of 4 had stopped for an enjoyable evening on 11/27/2024 around 7:30. Surprisingly , there wasn't many customers dining and our wait to be seated was only 5 minutes. It was not a busy night compared to other times we had dined there. Our waitress, (we will call her E)- her service was less than mediocre. It took over 15 minutes to place our food portion of our order while I watched our waitress complain to coworkers, mess around with the popcorn machine, hang out by the bar, suck up to the only table full of people behind us, etc. We eventually had to flag down a bartender just to ask for our waitress to take our order. We jokingly asked if she had forgotten about us and "E" didn't apologize for the delay- she curtly responded with "I have other tables to serve." We observed our food sitting on the kitchen pick up window for 5-10 minutes before it was brought to our table by the bartenders. The Food was great but lukewarm. She didn't stop to check on how our food was, ask for refills on sodas or if we needed anything else until we were almost finished with our meal. The bill was the quickest item " E" brought to our table the entire evening. Our dining experience was extremely long and very unpleasant. We won't be back. Note- negative reviews via word of mouth can spread rather quickly. I rounded up the score to 2 stars because of the food and definitely not the service.

I just want to say .. by far this is the best in the city of Mankato TY so much for your wonderful food and service

Excellent service and fun, friendly atmosphere. Recommend the wings and French Dip. Fun cocktails and nice beer selection.

Very expensive for what you get. The wings had no sauce. Literally maybe a teaspoon or less. Long Islands are VERY sweet and VERY expensive. They aren't even filled to the top of the glass. I got a French dip which was good but the "world famous" waffle fries were cold and floppy. Disgusting. It may have been sitting in the window too long waiting for my husband's food because his was super hot. Beware - there's a surcharge for absolutely everything. All in all we were very disappointed. There are much better restaurants in Mankato.
