Taqueria Hidalgo

Terrificly authentic taqueria...The street tacos are incredible and make sure you try them all. The burritos are outstanding, all the ingredients are fresh and very tasty. The Al Pastor is vertically spit cooked and is out of this world. The kitchen is clean and the cooks treat the food with respect. Try all of their plates too, they have so many combinations to choose from and they are all dressed up with rice and beans and a few tortilla chips. Sorry Minneapolis and Lake St, this joint kicks you all to the curb, hands down the best Taqueria in the Twin Cities and it's in Burnsville.Don't expect to be waited on and served at your table, go up to the cashier, check out all the awesome dishes, order and then wait for it at the counter to the left. This food is well worth waiting for and you won't be dissapointed with its quality. Go get a table and make sure you're respectful and don't leave a big mess when you leave. This isn't a place for you to be picky about the service, it's a place that serves awesomely authentic taqueria food that will knock your socks off! Prices are very fair too...Now go get your grub on!

I choose the closest Mexican restaurant to my hotel for cinco de mayo. I believe this is real authentic Mexican food. I had a hard time ordering because I don't speak Spanish but we got through it and got what I ordered ! The restaurant was busy and messy, I think they were dealing with a lot of to go orders. I liked the salty chips and the pork is stewed with peas! Next time I would just get the meat without the rice. In my burrito.

As authentic as it gets! Great value, too. Street tacos like you'd get in Mexico. And that you can order tongue, tripe, stomach, and head is how you know it's legit. Best al pastor I've had in recent memory. So so good!

Consistently great food! The restaurant was a little cleaner this time than it has been in the past. If you're looking for great food but don't mind a restaurant that's not the cleanest, I would recommend eating here and getting the fish!

My one and only experience here was very good. It wasn't that busy, but I ate a very early dinner right after work around 4, so no surprise there. The staff was very nice and patient since I'm generally pretty slow and picky about what I want. I eventually decided on the Plato de Lengua (beef tongue platter, served with salad, rice, beans and corn tortillas). It was superb. I have no complaints other than the cleanliness of the area was a bit off-putting and I think mostly due to how there is the mercado attached to it, which seems like a common issue with similar places - I think they spread themselves too thin trying to accomodate both sides and would be better off separated.

Love coming to the market to pick up ingredients I can't find at the grocery store. Everyone is usually very helpful and for the most part bilingual which helps a lot. The food is good. I haven't found anything that stands out but if your hungry it's worth a try! The tacos are good I gave it 4-stars because I had a long wait for being an only customer and the food was okay.

This place is amazing! Ample parking and great location.Quick friendly no frills service. Extensive very real Mexican menu and then some! There is something for everyone. The flavors are very authentic. If you love many of the taco choices, they sell meats by the pound. Many of the taco flavors have a choice of a full plate and you get tortillas and stuff. Kind of a make your own tacos kit. Note the place is not pristine clean, but in general it is very clean. Maybe us patrons could help keep it clean of we pick up what we drop. LIMPIEMOS Y RECOJAMOS LO Q SE NOS CAE! I'll be back as often as possible as it is not on my regular work not weekend route. But the value flavor and service make it worthwhile a drive and visit.

Fast service and good food. Not too busy so we ate inside. I had three tacos. I have been to two of their locations.

Great little take out place inside a market. Had street tacos, burritos, and totrta, all great. Had made a minor mistake on the order but they quickly and apologetically resolved.

Didn't get my order right. I had called to get a refund but all I got was rude customer service. Food wasn't flavorful or appetizing. No refund. No flavor. Small amount of food for the price.
