I stopped by on a Sunday for football! They have TONS of TVs, and had multiple games going. The Vikings sound was on, and they claim to have all the necessary streaming subscriptions for games. The vibe was fun - nothing crazy or loud but fun! There were families there as well, so all are welcome! There is a 'dining' section with booths and tables, and a bar section. The staff was friendly and service was super quick. The food was good! I had a cesear wrap and a baked potato (because why not?) Check out their website - their game day deals are decent! Overall I would come back! One note - you will definitely get a seat on Sundays between 1130-12, but I saw them turn away a good amount of people after the noon slot started.

Service was good and so was the food. It's a great neighborhood spot to watch the games and eat wings or a burger. Tons of stuff/activities to do almost everyday. We thought that was cool!We had burgers. The Washburn which we thought we would get strips of bacon was actually bacon bits. Thought that was wierd, but it was good. Waffle fries with seasoned sour cream...yum. The slider sampler was ridiculous! It was huge! Leftovers. The Bathroom was small and the floor was sticky. But. It was clean! Parking.. there is a lot, but not a lot of spaces when your sharing it with another restaurant. There is off street parking, so that helps. No pics because we were so hungry we forgot!!

We went on Halloween evening to try a new place and get some dinner! We came with a group of 8 and despite being nearly full they squeezed us in! Their menu had options of appetizers, pizzas, burgers, and other standard bar and grill fare. The place was fairly busy with low top tables, booths, and bar seating. Our server was friendly and service was pretty fast for how crowded the place was. We only ended up having one round of drinks and each person ordered something off the menu so we got to try a lot of different options. My partner and I tried their chicken sliders and one of their burgers. We were bummed because they said their ovens were off so we were unable to order any pizzas or appetizers that required the oven which was a lot of what my group had planned to order from looking at the menu online ahead of time. The food was good and the prices were reasonable but I don't think the food would make us return to the neighborhood alone. The burger and chicken were a little dry and the fries were pretty standard. Drinks were priced fairly too but unfortunately my drink order came out wrong. Being a service industry person I just drank what I had as well as paying and tipping 20% for it as they were obviously slammed for the holiday but I'm sure if I had pointed it out they would have fixed the issue. Good place, good time, very loud though. Be aware if you're coming in that it's not the easiest place to hold a conversation unless you're able to yell but that might just be a side effect of the business. Thanks to our server!

The food is mid at best but the service is the reason they're only getting one star. If NEGATIVE stars were an option I'd literally go -100! The waitress Jackie is a major word that rhymes with glitch and the fact that she works all the time makes the vibe unbearably miserable. They literally nicknamed the woman "mean jackie". Also pretty sure she's gotta be the evil witch of the west, that's the only excuse I could think of for the temperature CONSTANTLY being absolutely frigid including in the winter. 10/10 do NOT recommend, don't waste the money.

I was really hoping I wouldn't have to write this post as we tried giving ownership time to handle this situation correctly but after many communications from parties involved with empty promises to get back to us in a timely manner ... we have now been ghosted. On Dec 15th, a group of my friends and I came to Tailgate to enjoy some beverages and Karaoke. On last call, a couple of people in our group went to the bar to order a shot. Our other friend walked up to the bar and an off-duty bartender said "Not for you. We are closed black girl" ... to which clearly there were big reactions. Of course, there was drinking involved (on both sides) so emotions were high, but I would hope that there would be heightened emotions when standing up for what was clearly wrong and a pointed racist comment. There was also another comment made after that I am uncomfortable even typing the sentence but it involved the N word. We got kicked out (which wasn't unexpected ... but we did expect fair treatment for all parties involved) and as we were trying to get an Uber, the off-duty bartender and her friend group were allowed to stay inside and continue to scream things at our group. We left, and multiple people in our group reached out to the owner and management the next day. The owner apologized and said she would review the video footage as she didn't review it with audio and follow up. We haven't heard back as promised even after reaching out many times. Unfortunately, the things that were said are a hate crime. I want to support small, local businesses and would have hoped this was handled with grace. My fear is that there is a member of the staff here who clearly has a pointed view and to me, that is dangerous to have working at your establishment. Wishing for better, fair treatment ...and a safe place for all.

I'm adding a star because I've been here several times since my review and I really have come to like the place. The food is decent, they have a great selection in terms of beer and food, and they have a killer happy hour! This is a great neighborhood place with a lot of good specials. The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable, like a good neighborhood bar should be.For food, the burgers are good. The one with blue cheese crumbles and bacon is very tasty. Bomb onion rings. Happy hour food: decent chicken tenders, really good flatbread (which is really an ultra thin crispy pizza, and really good little sliders. I definitely recommend this place. I take friends and family here on occasion and everyone likes it.

Great choice of traditional wings in the Lyndale/62 area. Good choice of beers, excellent guacamole, and lots of TVs to watch the game! The service was fast and friendly, and the space is well laid out for a casual outing in a classic sports bar!

I read this place was one of the best sports bars and I recently moved to south minneapolis so it was perfect timing to check it out. We came here on a Monday night to watch some football. I was excited that they had a private parking lot so I didn't have to worry about the hassle of street parking. The inside is quite large with a separate bar and dining space. When it was time for the game they turned the sound on which any sports fan will appreciate.I had a few lemon shandy's and got the club sandwich. I loved that it was huge portion and I had leftovers. There was so much turkey meat paired with adequate amount of mayo. The fries were greasy and delicious. My husband got the tailgate burger with upgraded waffle fries. He must have liked it because he ate every bite and didn't share which rarely happens. They were having a wing special that night too but decided we would come back again for those. The service was a little slow but I think the girl was new so I'll give her a break. Overall quality food and lots of tvs!

This is my first review since creating this Yelp account, and while I know 1 star reviews can come off as hate mail, that's not what this is. This is meant to be fair critique and a chance for this café to receive feedback for improvement - not an attack on the owners or the staff who help run it. That being said, I don't recommend anyone to go to it in its current state. Myself and the person I was with arrived and we both had the same special that was being served: corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. We both had a craving for it and it was the reason we'd came to the Tailgate to begin with. Both specials rounded up to around $32, and when it arrived, it barely looked $7. The cabbage and potatoes looked like it had been slopped onto the plate like a high school cafeteria, the corned beef itself was serviceable but there was barely any portion to it, and the entire plate just wasn't at all seasoned. In fact, it was almost tasteless without the liberal amount of salt and pepper I had to put on it. It was barely warm like it had already been made an hour ago and left to sit until someone ordered it. Overall, the food was terrible and not at all worth the price. The service itself was fine - there weren't a lot of people on the day we went so the waitress was able to get to us in a timely manner. She was nice and made sure to check in, no real complaints there. The ambiance I'm fairly bias about because I don't really care for sports bars (I'm not a sports guy), but this place was absolutely dead. It's a fairly open space, but almost no music could be heard and the lighting was drab. The place, apt to its name, looks like the inside of a garage. It's just not fun to eat inside. And then, finally, there was the nail in the coffin. We were given a Toast remote to pay for the food, and while we were given options on what to tip, we wanted to tip 15% and that wasn't displayed. There was no subtotal to work off of as it included the tax in the overall total, so we had to just... guess what it was. We printed a receipt, and then we were charged for a "digital service fee" when we were given literally no other option besides cash. All in all, this place is a 1 star stop. The food is overpriced and barely serviceable, the atmosphere is depressing, and the hidden total to what we were paying as well as the surprise digital service charge just makes this place patron-hostile. Please, try to liven the place up and take more care in what your serving and how you're serving it.
