Love old style "home" cooked meals. Friendly staff and large portions for an excellent price.

The food and service are ok, but not great. Had to wait for drink refills, even though the place was half full and there were at least 4 servers on. Sandwiches are meh, the couple I've had, but the reuben definitely needed more corned beef than a few super thin slices. The fish sandwich was more breading than fish. Fiance did enjoy his ham dinner, aside from the clearly canned veggies. There's not a ton of options in Litchfield, so we have gone a couple times, but I'll try to go elsewhere next time we're in the area.

Bottom Line:Basic standard mid-American diner fare at a price that doesn't break the bank. Portions are generous enough, unless you are a really big eater. Friendly staff in our experience.Top Line:Stopped for lunch with one other person. We were quickly & courteously seated, water & menus brought to table expeditiously. Waitress was patient about our indecision on ordering and checked back a few times to insure we weren't forgotten. My companion ordered beef liver with sauteed onions dinner ($10 includes salad & a veggie) with a side of mashed potatoes. I ordered their $10 Calorie Counter with chicken. Having exercised culinary restraint on my meal, I splurged & ordered their $1.59 adverted daily special pumpkin bar ala mode for dessert. Drinks du jour were water, mine with lemon slice.Companion was glad to get liver & onions. Lots of places don't carry this as a menu option. I got the pre-entree salad (they're not a salad fan) with honey mustard dressing that was distinctly more honey sweetness than mustard tang. Salad was pretty standard: lettuce, shredded carrot, cherry tomato. Portion filled the bowl, so no scrimping on the greenery. The entree was a couple decent sized slabs of beef liver draped with well sauteed onions alongside a scoop of mashed potatoes. I also got the side veggie: a small bowl of whole kernel corn of which they're also not a fan.My Calorie Counter was a platter well filled by a salad (again with honey mustard dressing), dry wheat toast, and a grilled chicken fillet. The chicken fillet was so moist & insanely tender that I suspect it was brined before grilling. The salad was a repeat of the ingredients in companion's salad. Whole kernel corn was okay, not earth shaking, and could have stood the chef adding the dab of butter that I did to enrich it's taste.Pumpkin bar dessert was light in body & flavor. Not densely solid, as bars can sometimes be. Much more cakelike than brownie. But still acceptably moist. Spicing of the bar was restrained, not overwhelmingly sharp as pumpkin spice occasionally is. Cream cheese frosting was extremely light. Mucho whipping obviously having taken place. An interesting flavor note that I got on my first bite, but none of the subsequent bites, was an over-riding hint of anise (black licorice flavor) floating on the expected sweet creaminess of the cream cheese frosting. It may have come from the cakelike bar's flavoring. The vanilla ice cream, which I think is Kemp's brand, was okay. Again, acceptable but not life changing.Interior is filled with swan sculptures, so feels kind of kitschy. But what else to expect in a place named Swan's? Otherwise, interior decor is American diner standard. Food & price align with that experience as well.

Stopped in here today to buy my clients some breakfast. Walked in and was not sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait. Got a few stares from the staff. The cook was able to tell us to seat ourselves. After about a 5 minute wait , the waitress stopped over.... we asked for three cups of coffee , then changed it to two cups. You would think it was the end of the world . Waitress was rude, gave us a dirty look and walked away. We sat there for 10 minutes , still no coffee and decided to walk out . Pretty unpleasant staff , at least on one side of the restaurant. Definitely will not recommend or come back for a visit.

Very nice atmosphere. I locked myself out of my vehicle and the waitress went above and beyond to help me out. Made me feel like family. When I'm back in Litchfield I most definitely will be eating here.

Turkey Commercial and coffee, including tax $13.18 Great value, good food, good portions and they left the pot of coffee on the table. Waitress brought extra napkins when requested and I could not have asked for better service. 5 stars for a typical small town diner. My friend's $14 everything omelet looked delicious and his girlfriend said the pancakes were great. All in all well pleased.

Waitress: Judy right off the bat was rude and very short with us. I asked about the special. Judy acted as if we were bothering her. She was very short with her description. Not friendly at all.Food: Poor quality. Had the Taco Salad. Lettuce had a weird taste. Meat was not flavorful at all. The ground beef was - very poor quality. Shell was stale. Salsa was like out of a can.Charges:They automatically charged $1.00 to add lemon in my water. When asked about it, Judy said it was on the menu. They automatically added .95 on the ticket for a "Misc service fee" ( I think that is how it was printed on the ticket). When asked about it, Judy said it is added for use of rcedxitcards. I asked about Senior Discounts and Military Discounts. Judy said "No".I would NOT recommend this place at all. Judy, be kind to people. People will be kind to you. Nobody wants to pay for poor service and poor food. If the service was not so horrible, I would not be writing this review.

This place was great! My boyfriend and I stopped by here for breakfast while his dog was getting surgery and it did not disappoint. The food was good (average) and the customer service was great. The booth seats are a little uncomfortable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very homey and cute, you can tell a lot of regulars come to this place. Highly recommend coming to eat here if you're just looking for good meal.
