The owners of this place is the same owners as dragon star, double dragon, and sun foods. If you have been to any of those grocery stores, then you should know what's it like here. It's just this place is alot cleaner and bigger in size. This place was the old cub foods. I like it here since it's just a few blocks away from my house...yay!!. I don't have to drive to university or to ha tein anymore. Some items here are also cheaper than it's other stores, which is a plus. They just opened not to long ago so their still setting up a few things.

Me and a friend decided to check this new store (in the old Rainbow/Cub on Arcade) feeling adventurous. Large/interesting produce section when you enter, most is unmarked so if you don't already know what it is...it's a gamble if want to try something new. Much is over ripe/and a bit old. There is a huge variety of foods from many cultures here, I enjoyed trying new packaged food and treats. I found the fresh meats/fish iffy, not sure I'd the cleanliness or freshness. We each got a pre-made BunMi, that turned out to be dry and probably not made fresh that day. There was some hot items at the front when checking out (broiled chicken, duck, fried fish) that was makes down being near the end of the day 6-7pm. This was the most questionable food I've seen. It was exhibiting color and texture that was not appetizing. This stuff seriously should not have been sold. It was many hours past prime.I'll likely go back for some odd/interesting pre-packaged foods, but will probably start clear of the 'fresh' foods. If you're used to the food counter standards of Cub, HyVee, Byerly's/Lund's...you may find this very sketchy. But check it out anyway, you find some interesting items. It is a very large store, and you might find something.

This is a huge store. The produce was less expensive than the Asian market we usually go to. My daughter was visiting from up north and we thought we would check this store out. ***Warning*** the hours posted on Yelp and other places online are not necessarily current. They closed at 7:30pm, not 8pm when we went there the first time. It's also not just an Asian Market, but has a lot of standard supermarket fare. The most distinct feature of this store was the smell. The entire store smelled absolutely putrid. It was so bad that even after about 10 minutes it hadn't faded and we left. I don't know if it was durian or a deceased cadaver, but it was really bad. We will stick with Ha Tien.

The enthusiasm of this review should be tempered by the fact that I'm an extremely East Saint Paul kinda guy. With that disclaimer out of the way, if you're not shopping at Sun World and you have an affinity for fresh, affordable produce and an incredible variety of world cuisine, you're doing it wrong. If you're not accustomed the aroma of durian, it's going to hit you square in the sinuses, but this is your solemn initiation rite. This Shangri-La manages to encompass the near entirety of global fare. The hot deli case offers exquisite and lovingly prepared banh mi, a made to order papaya salad bar, and my favorite pork laab in the city. The prices are almost criminally low for exotic fungi and fish, and they have some of the loveliest plates and bowls I've encountered at Goodwill prices. The intoxicating tastes and smells make this a favorite East Side pilgrimage. 5 stars.

This grocery store is wonderful! You can find a very large selection of beautiful produce at reasonable prices; an incredible variety of spices, spice mixes/ blends, noodles, deli food, fresh meat, frozen products etc. You'll find food staples from all over East Asian regions, Hispanic regions and some American items. I've stopped in many times and I'm very impressed with selection. I've found the cheapest ground beef prices anywhere, specialty candies and treats and so much more. The rotisserie chicken is really good too. They also have a great selection of dishes and cooking pots etc. You can tell that the people that work here care about the store; it's very neat and organized.

I just stopped by with my grandma to this place to buy some groceries. First, we were interested in buying a steamer, and as we were opening one of the lids there was mold all over inside with a piece of expired meat we were so shook and disgusted. Many of the items on the shelf was either expired or expiring the next day. Then to top it off, we asked one of the workers to help assist us bring the 2 bags of 50lbs rice to our car, which is usually the norm at other Asian stores. The man did not acknowledge us, I said hi and thank you but he didn't even look at me. They need more employees and better guest servicing. I'm extremely disappointed.

Two for the review is really a bit high, however, I know it is a fairly new store, but as a general business operation -- it lacks the basics of keeping their customers happy. Especially first time shoppers who will now probably not return to the store unless they are looking for something special).1. Hot foods -- some items were not labeled as to what they were or what their ingredients were. Items such as trays for 'lunch', foggy covers -- couldn't see the contents very well, etc. Wouldn't purchase them because there may be something in the dish that I wouldn't eat or was allergic to, etc.2. Some items wouldn't scan. I had a fish dumpling and a shrimp dumpling. Fish one didn't scan, cashier went to service counter, another employee looked up price, and 'said' it was $1.99. Cashier punched it in. Shrimp dumpling scanned at $ 3.99; she then canceled the $ 1.99 and charged me $ 3.99 for the fish ones. Granted, they are the same price, but if she was given $ 1.99 for the fish and punched it in -- then she should have given it to me for that price.3. Aisles not marked overhead -- only some items were listed. Also, inconsistent set-up of products. Some baking items in one aisle -- sugar, oil, etc. Another aisle had more items -- like flour and more oil, maybe gelatin, etc. So really had to go up and down every aisle just to find the product you were looking for.4. Many shelves/items not marked so it was hard to decide what the cost was of one brand of an item was over the cost of another brand of the same type of item. Since I couldn't compare costs or even know what an item's price was -- I didn't purchase that item at all.5. Some employees were very friendly. However, at the checkout -- it took longer than it should have because I had a number of items that wouldn't scan and so the cashier had to find out the price. The employee who started bagging my products seemed to be bored waiting for the prices so he left. Then I had to bag the rest of my items on my own. Another cashier was not busy, however, she didn't seem it was necessary for her to 'jump in' and bag my groceries because another employee was not there doing it.6. Sorry there wasn't any choice of paper or plastic (or even a choice to purchase a re-useable bag, like Cub and Target have, for example.THANKS!!

The women who serving food in the back are very disrespectful, I was treated horribly. I asked the lady nicely to add extra rice and I knew that they charged more, but she only put a little bit more rice and then charged me 2 dollars more. Because me and my daughter were speaking I'm Spanish and joking about something she saw online, the lady barley put anything in the plate of food. I will NOT be going back. If I could give this place zero stars I would.
