OMG, my wife treated me to birthday by having us stay here this weekend. Well, this place really feels like a real B&B. We stayed at Rittenhouse Inn last year for her birthday and it was nice. But, this place feels like home away from home with the nice touches of a warm welcome. We left our house after work so got here around 5:30PM on a Friday. Elaine had Sandy greet us and she was most welcoming with pamphlets of things to do. She prepared a local wine and cheese/grape platter while we decided for dinner. Plus, there was a bubbly mango sparkling bottle drink too for my birthday. In our room, she had some of Elaine's chocolate brownies ready for us as well. We ended up going to Swensons' Lake House restaurant only a couple blocks away. It was the best decision and recommendation from Sandy. Afterwards, we got the wine and cheese/grape platter from the fridge to relax in the gazebo. It was a nice a private area which we could enjoy the sunset. It was only the 2 of us in the house so it was nice to have some privacy with the house to ourselves. We woke up in the middle of the night and decided to enjoy some treats in the common area upstairs. We helped ourselves to some crackers and hot cider from Kuerig that Sandy showed us earlier. In the morning, we woke up and Sandy prepared our breakfast. We took a short walk around the lake and then to the church and back. Sandy was ready and served us a 3-4 meal breakfast. It started with a vanilla Greek yogurt parfait with cantaloupe, strawberries, and banana. Next, we had sausage with Havarti eggs and dill which was fantastic with some English muffins and homemade jam. Last, we had a bread pudding with whipped cream and chocolate chips. We finally got some great recommendations for hiking and checked out with Sandy. We enjoyed the wine so much that we visited WineHaven to pick up another bottle of the Stinger honey wine. Also, we picked up some of that local cheese down the road at Eichen that Sandy had for us when we arrived.

I loved this place!!! It was a great choice to go there instead of a hotel when traveling home to Minnesota. I can't wait to go again!!! My boyfriend and I love to travel but have never stayed in a bed and breakfast... Now we are hooked!!! It's adorable and the sweet lady that owns it is just amazing and sweet. Honest and good hearted.

Waited too long to write this review, and now I've forgotten some of the details, which is sad, because there were so many precious, wonderful details about this place. We stayed in the Aerie Suite - our one splurge while in Minnesota, and it was totally worth it! What I remember most, aside from lovely Elaine (the proprietor), was the delicious bowl of boiled strawberries she served up as part of breakfast. That may sound odd, but it was one of the best breakfast dishes we've ever tasted. Thank you Elaine!

Saw great reviews for summit inn on tripadvisor and decided to book a room to celebrate a birthday. We were running late and when we called Elaine was very accomadating. When we arrived there was a cheese/fruit plate and a glass of wine in the social room for us. Our room was perfect. The whirlpool was a single person whirlpool. The bed was soooo comfortable! I slept like a baby. We took a few walks in the neigbhorhood. We drove to St Croix Falls for dinner and when we returned there were two cupcakes with candles in our room! what a nice treat. You can decide the time and location of breakfast. Coffee was delivered to our room upon awakening. And last, but certainly not least, the breakfast was so yummy. Wildrice and ham egg bake with toast and homemade jam and a delicious coffee cake for dessert. Highly recommend checking this place out for a weekend get-away.

My fiance and I needed to get away for the weekend, and the pictures sold us on this B&B. The pictures didn't even do justice! If you arrive at night time, a beautiful lit arch greets you, as well as Elaine, the innkeeper. Elaine is so wonderful in so many ways, I can't even begin to explain how kind, warm, and loving she is. The house is well decorated and has a light, airy feel. We stayed the Dr. Gunz's Study, and it was perfect. The bathroom was smaller than I expected, and I wish there was a tub in the room, but the other two rooms are provided with tubs. The bed was comfortable and had wonderful views of the nightly lit gazebo and lake. I'm not the type to sit around, but that's all I wanted to do there! I could have sat in the gazebo, in the room, in the garden, wherever on this property and felt the cool breeze from the lake and listen to the birds chirp for hours. She provides MANY books, games, and movies for your enjoyment, as well as a hospitality room where there are a variety of teas, wines, and k-cups. When you arrive, you're greeted with cheese, grapes, and crackers. And, in the evenings, she makes you yummy treats! Her breakfast is wonderful as well. She'll even ask if you want to be greeted an hour before breakfast with coffee waiting at your door. There isn't too much to do in the immediate area, you have to drive a little ways to find stuff to do in towns. All the locals recommended visiting Taylor Falls and the wineries. We also drove 45 min to Stillwater, and it was beautiful. We ate at the Pizza Pub and Swenson's and both were delicious. I can't say enough great things about this B&B, and highly recommend to anyone.
