Don't be fooled. I am not saying this school is perfect but by no means does it deserve its current rating. This is the classic case of the few people that had negative experiences going out of their way to post their feedback while those of us that are extremely satisfied don't share our feedback. I sent my two daughters to this school. They had the same teacher the entire time. The same manager the entire time. I am shocked at the lack of turnover. When a teacher does leave, it is usually to another Step by Step facility because of a promotion. Highly recommend SbS Edina!

We do not have good experience with this school, my kids went for almost a year. teachers are rude, and kids feel disconnected with teachers.

Our 13-month-old daughter was at a well-reviewed daycare center prior to enrolling at Step at Step. We decided to switch locations because she wasn't thriving at the care center and this location was much closer to our home. Since joining Step by Step, my only regret is not having enrolled sooner. It is very obvious that the teachers truly care about the children. For example, my daughter was afraid to go down the slide at school - one of her teachers spent a whole day encouraging her, and the next morning, my daughter ran to this teacher as if she were part of our family. We have been so thankful to have landed such a gem!

Extremely disappointed with this facility because of their discriminatory practices. While looking for a full-time preschool setting for my 2.5yo who has been cared for at home up until now, went an open house event. While not impressed with the facilities, I signed my little one up for part-time for the summer to give it a try, mainly because my neighbor seemed to be satisfied with them and they were a "montessori" facility( I later find out they are actually not Montessori certified), I guess anyone can use the term. My neighbor also warned me that there has been too many management turnover in the in the last couple of years for her liking but stack around because of her little ones teacher. Make long story short as summer nearly arrived and not hearing back from them on availability as they promised, I decide to give them a call only to find out they "lost"our application and that they would want to see my little one for couple of hours to see how "he fits into the environment"...quite surprised I asked what they would really look for in within 2hours in a developmentally healthy child(and quite academically advanced since I've been mostly stay home with him up to now)? Their answer was loosely "oh just to see if there is separation anxiety and such" Giving the benefit of the doubt I schedule the 2hours....of course my son had no separation issue and in fact was quite excited and dived in immediately. Fast forward 1.5 hours I return and the director tells me she doesn't think he would "fit" into the environment....shocked and surprised I asked why and the answer I got was he needs lot's of directions...WOW!!! First of all this is child who is completely new to this environment and it's structure and in addition he was younger than most in the classroom. It was mind boggling to me and at that point suspicious that they were racially discriminatory as I honestly saw no african-american children in that school and I did take account of the lack of diversity in the open house but I thought to myself it's Edina, not expecting a lot of diversity but never occurred to me that there would be racially discriminatory practices. It's extremely tragic in this day in our time that little kids are being screened and discriminated against just because of their race. When all is said and done that director was correct my little one DOES NOT fit into that intolerant environment and I hope no other family has to go through that and hence why I write my first Internet review and people can take it for what's worth but having seen and experienced racism in my lifetime, I know quite well what it looks and smells like.
