State Street Cafe

The unassuming St. Street Cafe is very small and cozy, with a rustic charm that immediately makes you feel at home. It's the kind of place where locals gather for a hearty meal and talk to each other like best friends.The service at St. Street Cafe is a highlight. Our server was super friendly, ensuring we felt welcome from the moment we walked in. The coffee kept flowing, and we never saw the bottom of our cups--a simple but much-appreciated touch that added to the overall experience.The menu is impressively expansive, especially for such a small place, with decent portions and prices that are refreshingly cheap. I ordered the North Star Platter, which came with a wild rice brat and American fries. The brat was pretty good, though it didn't have as much of a wild rice flavor as I expected. The raspberry fritter French toast, on the other hand, was a standout--really flavorful and didn't even need syrup. The American fries, while tasty, were a bit on the soft side and could have benefited from a bit more crispiness.Overall, St. Street Cafe is a great spot for a comforting, affordable meal in a cozy northern Minnesota setting. With friendly service, endless coffee, and some standout dishes, it's definitely worth a visit.

For a small town diner, this place really delivers on great food - for a cheap price! - and very friendly service. We came in on a Saturday morning for a family brunch and were taken care of right away. I ordered the BBQ Benedict, which seemed unique and like something I can't get just at any breakfast joint. Also got a single slice of French toast. Both were delicious! Other unique breakfast items to check out: French toast fritters and wild rice brats. Others at my table got those and raved about them.

Came in for brunch with the family on New Year's Eve and thankful they were open because we had a fantastic meal with incredibly friendly and fast service for very reasonable prices. I had the Everything Omelette with hashbrowns and wheat toast and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Some other dishes our party had were the spicy fritter sandwich, pancakes, and egg platter and everything came out cooked exactly as requested very quickly! Very much recommend this spot if in town. Come for the food, stay for the cozy atmosphere and nice service.

This is one of my favorite spots to go to for breakfast. They have great coffee, not weak and watery, the chef really knows how to make eggs just like you asked for, and the wait staff is efficient and friendly. We splurged and split a caramel roll and it was like a little slice of heaven, warm out of the oven, fresh, gooey and melt in your mouth goodness. They have a varied menu and a few specials each day. Don't miss this when in the area. You won't be disappointed! The interior is clean and homey and there is ample parking. It is also right off the Central Lakes Trail, so a great destination from Alexandria or Brandon. Open for breakfast and lunch.

This is a great Small town cafe! Everything you think of is here. A smile once you walk in and a very pleasant server, always checking on us and making sure our drinks were filled. We never had to wait for any of our questions. My wife ordered the raspberry fritter turkey melt which had some amazing flavors and stacked with turkey. I had the rodeo burger which was good. My son had the chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes which were huge! Overall the place is very clean, neat and good. Its right off the state bike path and definitely worth a try. We will be back!

Absoulte favorite place when we visit the area! The food is amazing, the caramel rolls are the best ever, best staff, so friendly and reasonably priced.

Our family frequents this restaurant for weekend breakfasts. It is always fast and good! Never had a bad meal and we always bring guests when they come visit us!
