We have started a family tradition of going to St Croix Valley trees. We cut down our tree, which the kids have SO much fun picking one out. We then go get hot cocoa and sit by the fire pit. The kids then play for hours at the castle and it's such a fun family place.

Terrible tree selection for cut your own this year. Don't bother. They are supposedly opening more fiends next week but dues nothing for those that showed up this weekend. So disappointed.

Great selection of trees, many varieties, all given a unique name. This year, ours was Ralph Kramden. It actually wasn't quite as nice as Shipwreck, but we left that one in the wild because of its name. Would love to hear what happens to the family that brings that one home. Some bad juju.

This was my first time going to this location. The best part was the overall selection of quality trees. There were 5 species of trees, most of which I'd never heard of. There was also a convenient tractor to ride on if you don't feel like walking out to your tree. Unfortunately that was the last positive thing. The staff was overall useless. I had to seek them out if I ever needed help. The last place my wife and I went to get a tree made sure to 1.) shake the tree to make sure any loose needles came free 2.) helped tie the tree to our vehicle. Neither of these were an option. Suffice it to say, my drive back home was stressful and full of checking my mirrors for a flying tree.Would I go again? Yes. But I'll make sure to research how to securely tie a tree to my car.

Best place to go to get a tree for a family! There's so much to do...a super cool hay mountain with secret tunnels to climb through for kids and the best gumball machine game I've ever seen! Even if you don't need a tree, it's a must for a couple hours of family fun!

An annual tradition! This place is amazing. Very well run with lots of people to help you out, delicious hot chocolate and sweets and most importantly-beautiful trees. Kids love the play area. We'll be back next year!

We've been coming here for years, and had another wonderful experience recently. The owners are so helpful, the trees are hand-shaped, there's a great variety, and they make the experience of finding cutting your own tree a Wonderful Winter Adventure! Highly recommended!!!

I admit I don't have many Christmas Tree farms to compare St. Croix Valley Trees too - but every year since I've moved to Minneapolis I've gone to this tree farm. Ok, I so that's only 2 years, but it's already become something of a tradition to drive out to summerset and argue over which tree is tall enough but not so tall that it won't fit in the room, which tree full enough, is there a bare patch, can that bare patch be pushed into the corner so it isn't noticeable....After we pick the perfect tree from a field of perfect trees, I cut it down with the saw that's given to you upon arrival and then we drag it to the barn to pay. The barn is full of families with children and dogs running everywhere. There's free hot apple cider and a little stand selling more treats to warm yourself up after cutting down a tree in the season's first cold spell. The real tricky part comes when you have to tie the tree onto your car with twine and drive back home praying the entire time that the tree won't fall off the back of the car and hit the car behind you causing a 40 car pileup for which you are responsible. So far that hasn't happened, an if it does I'm going to write a new review giving St. Croix Valley Trees only 1 star.

We LOVE this place. Love. Lovelovelove. Have been driving here from the cities for the last 10 years to get our tree. It has gotten to where we reserve the whole day for this event just because we don't want to be rushed. Love the atmosphere, the tractor ride out to the far corners of the farm, the BEAUTIFUL trees, the cheerful, super helpful plaid-jacketed workers, the cocoa and coffee and haystack and fried Oreos! A toasty warm outdoor fire that I can warm my hands at while the kids climb on all the structures. They haul your tree on the tractor in from the field after you cut it down, and shake the needles off and drill the bottom for the tree stand. They have an old juke box in the barn that plays Bing and Elvis, and upstairs in the barn are these crazy move the marble machines that enthrall my kids and Husband for a solid half hour. This place is flat out magic. Go.
